How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

  • I'm at an interesting point in my journey that I've been before, and it sounds like a great problem, but it's really not.

I'm having a hard time getting to my calorie limit every day. Now that warmer weather is here and I'm mowing at least three times each week, I'm getting some good exercise and you'd think I would be hungry, but it's not happening.

The problem is one I've experienced before. I'm aiming for 1700 calories per day. When I was losing weight during Covid in 2021, I entered a very long stall during the summer, even though I was getting so many steps in each week. I finally had friends tell me what the problem was - I wasn't hungry then either and was only getting about 1200 calories per day, and they said that was causing my body to go into starvation mode, and I wasn't burning fat anymore.

I don't know if that's true or not, but I started getting closer to my goal again and the weight started back down.

It's getting close to 9:00 p.m. here and I'm at 1123 calories for the day I'm going to have to eat something else, but I really don't want to. It's too late to be eating much, so I'll have a cheese stick and a cookie, which should get me up to 1400 calories.

Talk about a reversal of fortune! I'm in this Transformer because I couldn't stop eating, and now I'm in a position where I don't want to eat!

    It's a mad world!

PS - It seems that many experts believe "starvation mode" is a myth, and that it's all in our head. I don't think my head is smart enough to think of something like that!

I guess the heart of my suggestion was to try drinking your calories, I know for me the protein and fiber in a shake help me reach my macro goals, but if you don't need them put whatever in it that you still need and try drinking your calories! Maybe you need a milkshake lol

@Naomi - if I could keep it so just "a" milkshake, that might not be bad. But I tend to like more than one of them soon after the first one is gone!

@Dale - resetting the appetite is a good thing. I may not be losing any of the fat I want to get rid of, but my stomach is losing weight! Maybe that's where all of my weight loss is happening!
