So my home screen states that I have lost 5.8 pounds. I don’t think it’s nearly that much… But what I have lost is probably water weight, because since I started increasing my water intake, I have also increased my output, if you know what I mean. It’s amazing how drinking more water does not result in retention, but actually expression. If that’s the right term, whatever the reason my scale shows a difference, I’m going to embrace it and can’t wait for the day that I don’t have to jump up and down when I am trying to button my pants. Lol.

Nice! Great start. I always look at it as extra water retention is extra weight. Whether you loose water or fat you still feel lighter and are carrying around less pounds which feels good!

DietBet Grace

Definitely embrace it, Rachel! (and I think a lot of us have had those moments with our pants lol!)

Going to stay engaged and work hard through this round. I made the mistake of getting into multiple games at one time and lost my focus. Back to one at a time, finish and onto another round.

:raised_hands: it's always ok to reevaluate and figure works best for yourself. Good luck to you Heidi!

Hey all Bart from Idaho here. I just joined and my verified weight was only 4 lbs under my highest weight ever so I definitely need to get back on a more healthy lifestyle. I actually started in January with a challenge to myself to go 6 months without treats. That went well and I do feel a lot better, but now it’s time to focus on exercising and other healthy habits. My goals for this game are.

A gallon of water per day
10k steps a day minimum.
Exercise 3 times a week

Let me know what your goals are for this game, I’m also looking for some good non food rewards for myself, let me know if you’ve found any you like.

First week goal= calming down on sweets and 20 minutes exercise daily.
Any hobbies? You could purchase something related to your hobby when you reach a goal ?

DietBet Grace

Welcome to the game, Bart! 6 months without treats is a huge accomplishment - that must have taken a lot of willpower! I'm working on my water intake as well. I aim for about 100oz a day. I try to get a head start on it early in the morning, otherwise the day can slip away!

  • Happy Friday!

    Tips for a Healthy Weekend:
-Plan ahead - So important to be prepared for whatever comes your way!
-Drink your water - Hydration can ease hunger and help you feel satiated
-Keep moving - It feels great and burns calories!
-Moderation - Don't over do the food and drinks
-Relax - Stress can lead to overeating. Take some time for yourself!
-Sleep - We need our sleep and it aids our weight loss efforts!
    -Have fun!

The weekend is also a great time to do some meal planning and prep for the week. Head to the grocery store and stock up on healthy options to have on hand.

Have fun and make choices that will make you happy when you step on the scale on Monday! You've got this!

So far so good! I made a big batch of marinara and turkey meatballs and a huge container of cucumbers, bell pepper, carrots and celery for a quick veggie side! Still doing well on my movement too :grinning:

Meal prep can be SO helpful, Sabrina! Great job!

So let me share a little bit about me.

Disclaimer: I’m not trying to offend anyone. This is about me and me only.

I have not blossomed, not bloomed, but ballooned to 193 pounds. I have been living a life of stress and perimenopause for about 4 years. Between eating like crap, not sleeping and just being generally unhappy, I have absolutely let myself goooooo.

My 35 year high school reunions (I went to two schools during my childhood) are next year. I have decided THEY are the reason I need to make changes. It could be for my health, my family, my comfort, but truth be told, those reunions are my motivator.

I have joined more Dietbets in the last 10 years than I can count, I have given up hundreds of dollars, I have eaten more junk food and spent more time in recliners than any person ever should. But this time I am determined to make it stick. When I took my photos this morning I really realized how much I had let myself go.

I have started simply by cutting out the junk food and drinking probably 10 times more water than I had been (which was nearly zero ounces) each day. I’m going to make these two small changes for the first week and see where it gets me. I will add exercise and more vegetables to my diet as time progresses.

Thank you for your time and I wish luck to each and everyone of you.

I am so with you on this. I appreciate your vulnerability and honesty! I am feeling similarly to what you shared and it is time. Time for self care in whatever form benefits us…is how I see it. I’m rooting for us all!

Tawnya R.

I’m battling perimenopause too so I can totally relate. Great job getting motivated.

I find the dietbets where people chat in the comments and in the game feed more helpful and inspirational! Let's try to get it rolling! I'm excited that I've exercised for 3 days consecutively(started Sunday)! I hadn't done that in awhile. What's something that you've switched up since starting this bet?

Man, yes…. No nighttime snacking for me too, which is SO hard!

Tawnya R.

Yay! Keep up the great work! My fiancé and I are focusing on a higher protein way of eating. I have PCOS and he’s had the gastric sleeve so high protein is best for both of us.

I haven’t done one of these since 2018! But the last time I did this it really kickstarted my weight loss and I ended up losing 50 pounds! HOPING that will happen again. Since having my son I’ve gained 40 pounds on top of what I had already gained back. Here’s hoping this is that motivation I need! I’m actually really excited! Let’s go guys!

Excited to do this!
Personally I have been lacking accountability to myself and this seems like a great first step. It has been a few years since I have done one of these. I am excited!
Lets go! 🙌?☀
