I started a Kickstarter at the same time as this Transformer. It felt like a good idea for the first month because the goals are similar, but now I’m wondering if I should do the same for the second month. Does anyone else double up with the Transformer and the Kickstarter?

I always do a 2 or 3 at a time but beware; at first I thought "if I'm gonna lose 4 pounds in 4 weeks (example) for this one, I will do the same for more of them". I started like 6-7-8 at the same time and didn't reach my goal, lost a lot of $$!

  • Berries and cottage cheese instead of a yogurt. I also packed a carrot today and I put some spinach on my sandwhich (not enough to count as a serving but have to sneak them in somewhere right? Better than just meat and cheese i guess lol)
    What are some swaps you are doing this week that you don't normally pay attention to?

I should say the berries were frozen. That way they are cheaper and they thaw and leave yummy juices lol

Hi there! Where do you live and what are your goals? What’s your plan to get to your goals? Since we’re together for 6 months I’d love to know more about your weight loss journey.

I’m from Northern California. I want to lose 80 pounds and be strong again. For this Transformer I’d love to lose half of that, so 40 pounds. I’ve lost over 100 pounds before - with DietBets. I’m ready to do it again, but this time with a maintenance plan in place. I don’t want to be old & fat. I want to be old & strong! I’m doing hyper ketosis and it’s working. 5 pounds off in 5 days! I’m doing StepBets & plan to add 2-3 days of strength training starting this week. 💪

I’m Krista and I live in British Columbia, Canada :yellow_heart:
I have between 35-50lbs more to lose, but if I could be successful in losing 25lbs (15%) for this DietBet that would be amazing! I plan on tracking my calories to reach my goals. Last year I lost 40lbs and I am hoping to continue on that path although it has not been a linear journey so far.
I hope to increase my movement / steps and be a healthy role model for my two young daughters. Happy to be on this DietBet with you all, I think we can all crush this! :yellow_heart: Thank you Lisa for this post! It’s nice to connect with you all!

  • The 3rd challenge is the Nutrition Challenge!

    Here is the challenge if you choose to accept:

    *Eat 5 servings a day from the fruit/vegetable group, 5 days this week.

    It can be all vegetables or any combo of both. What is a serving? For the purpose of our challenge we will use the American Heart Association definition: Vegetables: 1 cup of raw leafy vegetables (about the size of a small fist), 1/2 cup of other vegetables or 1/2 cup of vegetable juice. Fruits: 1 medium fruit (the size of a baseball); 1/2 cup chopped, cooked or canned fruit; or 1/2 cup juice.

    One suggestion, but not part of the challenge: Please post at least one picture of a healthy meal you eat this week. It provides great ideas for everyone in our game! And remember to make healthy food choices in other food groups but we are not measuring those for this challenge.

    **At the end of the week I will ask you to comment under a post I will have pinned at the top of the game page. You will need to click on (comment) below that post and report in there. You will have until Saturday 10:00 PM Pacific Time to report in. I will then put all the players who completed this weeks challenge into our drawing for a $30 Amazon gift card or PayPal cash!

This challenge is definately making me rethink some of the things I pack (or more what I don't pack) for my lunches. It makes me curious what swaps other people have made.
Yesterday I was going to put a yogurt in my lunch but I remembered the challenge and I did berries and cottage cheese instead (my husband puts some Splenda on his but I find the berries make it sweet enough. You could use honey or something you prefer too! The cottage chesse gives protein and the berries are good fibre and it isnt very high in calories so i recommend trying it!)
I still found that was the only fruit/veggie I had most of the day until supper and then had to try to squish the other 4 in for supper/evening snack
So today I thought i better bring some more for lunch so I packed an apple and a whole red peppers along with some pork skewers and rice from leftovers (before I probably would have just packed the rice/pork).

What are some swaps you are making?

Also, if this is a 6 month challenge, why do we have to lose most of it (9%) in 4 months? I feel like that defeats the purpose of having 6 months lol

This is more of a question for the admins?

You don't technically have to lose it all for the monthly weigh ins. They are like check ins and there is a pot attached to them but half of all the bets go to the final pot. You can win the first month and lose the next 2 and then win again. They probably pace it out that way because most people lose the lost at the start of a challenge and of being more determined and aware. Later it gets harder after those initial pounds are off so they make the final few months less. The final month is set up to basically be a maintain month but can also be a catch up month to still get the final pot. I think you have to have lost 6% by the 5th month to do the 6th month just so that people aren't doing unhealthy things to push to lose 10% in one month or something. But yah you still have the full 6 months to win the final and biggest pot. Obviously you want you aim to win the other months but don't beat yourself up if you only do 2% a month instead of 3% these first 2 months or you miss month and catch up later that's still a win. I don't know if any of that made sense but I hope you don't get too discouraged and just keep pressing on. If you don't make a monthly check in let it fuel your fire to work harder to meet the next one. You got this!

In order to win the round 4, you must hit the 9%. In order to win round 5, you have to hit 10%. This is a mandatory weigh in, as you need to hit at least 6% to make sure you lose safely. Each of these rounds are only half of the winnings and the other half goes to round 6, where you maintain the 10% weight loss

Me too! This weekend I would do decent through the day but then have like 7 unhealthy snacks at the nights and then Sunday was a birthday and anniversary party. :sweat_smile:
But I do always find these first week's is just a lot of learning how much I was overeating (and over-snacking) before and how to make those adjustments. So here is to a weekend of lessons lol onward we treck. You're right we got this. :grinning:
