I’m bummed because I did not meet the goal. I got a super late start and being morbidly obese I have some pretty big goals so I’m not shocked. But not only am I losing the money I have a massive goal to hit in 4 weeks this month. Feels like a losing battle. Trying not to completely give up but I’m struggling. We are on a tight budget and I really pushed things signing up for this because I really need to get my weight under control but now I’m feeling like it was a mistake.

@Sara, hone it in. Do whatever you have to do for this month. Drinks lots of water. Cut back on portion sizes. Fast 16 hours and eat in an 8 hour window. Eat lean. Increase fiber. Move more. Do it for a month and you'll see the weight loss happen. You will need to be consistent for 1-2 months, then you'll be caught up or nearly caught up. I know it. Many of us have been there.

My why: I have two young boys who have a lot of toddler energy! They find so much joy in having me play with them. I want to have the energy and focus to be able to get my daily tasks done AND actively play with my kids. I want to be involved in their sports as they get older, to be outside keeping up with them as they explore the world. I want my money to go toward having fun with my family, not toward future medical bills because we didn’t take care of ourselves. An added bonus would be getting to add another child to the mix once I’m down a good amount of weight

This past year was a bad health year… I found out I had pre-diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. I’ve done a lot—strength training, cardio, huge diet changes (I was vegan for 4 months 😭, I cut out salt 😭, I cut out sugar and carbs 😭). Everything is coming together slowly except the weight loss! It was just too much on top of all the other adjustments, but I think I’m ready now and I think this will be just the ticket to get me there! Unfortunately, I get really hungry at 1pm, so hopefully I can get past that. 😅🙈

I read several books! Mastering Diabetes, The Diabetes Code, Undo It and Blood Pressure Down. It’s been a roller coaster this year. After I went vegan, my cholesterol went down to normal within 3 months, but at that point I was eating more carbs, so I went back to some meats to help manage the pre-diabetes. My high blood pressure was at 165, but I’ve got it down to the 130’s now. Gotta get labs again to see where everything is again, but I am suspicious everything is also connected to my weight gain post grad school.

I’ll have to try Outlive! Apparently I read a lot of health related books :sweat_smile: I wake up at 5am for my workout and have breakfast at 7, lunch at 11am, and I’m always starving by 1pm for some reason. I have been having a meal sized snack…
