I lost a good amount of weight in 2012 thanks to WW and was really happy with myself. After some stress and lacking attention to diet, I put the weight back on... so now I'm getting back at it (but with intermittent fasting). It's time!

Hi Everyone! I was in a previous diet bet to lose 5 lbs, which I’ve unfortunately gained right back because I didn’t focus on sustainable habits. For this one, my specific goal is to reduce my servings of sugary treats to one a day. Super hard in Girl Scout cookie season but all the sugar is not good for me. Anyone have a little Girl Scout that can relate to the cookie takeover? lol.

Amen to both Tiggy and Emma. Same boat as them!

I allow my self one sweet per day. So during Girl Scout cookie season, I get one cookie per day. I was the cookie mom for my daughter's troop, so I know how hard it is.

Im there! Yay!
Usually when i play, i overindulge as soon as the game is over...
Not this time! I just signed up for another game, starting before this one ends. Hoping for better long term results this time around.

Same!!

I’m guilty of that too. I joined a transformer just for extra motivation to break the pattern

  • Happy Monday! The finish line is in sight, but don't let up now! The last stretch of any journey is often the most challenging, but it's also the most rewarding.

Keep pushing forward, and don't let anything derail you. Celebrate your small victories along the way, and remember that every step you take, no matter how small, is bringing you closer to your goal.

Keep pushing forward, one step at a time. You've got this!

I had a couple friends from out of town unexpectedly come visit this weekend. I wanted to be flexible and enjoy my time with them - so definitely ate more than I would have otherwise, had a couple alcoholic beverages over the weekend, and didn't get my workouts in quite as much as I would have otherwise - but it's a new day! Time to start a new week by getting back into my routine and prepping for the end of this DietBet.

Danette R.

I started this journey at a jeans size 26plus - and today I just put on a size 18plus jeans! Soon I can shop in the “normal” size section!!! (Weight 313 to 243 as of today)

Six lbs down, four to go, and period bloat and cravings about to kick in hahahaha! Exercise increased to counter the cookies I'll be sneaking, don't tell my partner!

Girl I feel ya. Working out last night and looked at myself in the mirror and thought what the heck I felt like I had been looking good and making progress and now my stomach was rolling over the top of my workout pants… and woke up today to my period starting (I’m irregular so it’s never the same time and this month it’s pretty early)

Tiggy

This just reminded me to look at my period tracking app to see if I'd have to deal with it at weigh-in time. Unfortunately, looks like I'll probably be dealing with some pre-period bloat around weigh-in time. *sigh*

Is anyone else utilizing intermittent fasting to help them meet their weight loss goals? Curious to hear from others on what their routine is. :-)

Intermittent fasting and calorie deficit. Makes a big difference!

Kathy

Yes I am. It’s hard at first but becomes second nature. Definitely do it and stick to it.

Does everyone plan to submit unofficial weigh-ins throughout the week? I think I am going to do Mondays and Fridays. I am hoping it will help keep me accountable on the weekends, which is when I usually go off the rails. This week I am down 2.6lbs and really don't want to screw it up!

  • I am re-newly plant-based and trying to focus this Dietbet on getting my veggies in with the starches such as rice, beans, and potato’s that I normally eat. Here is a pic of the rice and Brussels Sprouts that I made today. It was really good. Yesterday I made a broccoli and rice bowl that was also delicious.

I've been obsessed with Brussels Sprouts recently. Made them multiple times over the holidays using the simplest instructions. Literally just 3 tablespoons olive oil, 1 tablespoon water, and salt/pepper to taste... sliced in half, flat side down on the sheet pan. Cooked COVERED with foil for 10 minutes at 500 degrees (this steams them), then UNCOVERED for another 10 minutes at 500 degrees (to bake them). Done. They're so good!

Emilie T.

Yum! I love Brussels sprouts! I’m about to make myself some roasted tomatoes and rice.

Hi everyone, I'm Nancy, and I'm excited to spend the next four weeks with you. I first heard about DietBet on social media in 2017. I was skeptical but took a chance. I'm so glad I did. I lost 70 pounds and found an amazing community along the way!

Let's commit to prioritizing our well-being and making this the healthiest year yet, filled with nourishing choices, joyful movement, and mindful moments. Here are a few tips to keep in mind as you make your plan to conquer your goals:

Plan your meals: Be prepared by surrounding yourself with healthy choices. Make eating healthy the easiest choice and consider meal prepping.
Schedule your workouts: Treat them like important meetings that can't be missed.
Hydrate like a pro: Find ways to make water fun.
Track your food: Keep it real! Whether you write it down or take pics, accountability helps!
Prioritize sleep: It's crucial for weight loss and overall well-being.
    Don't forget self-care!

Hi all, my goal is consistency. Drink more water, swim, and get back to the gym.

Jill S.

I want to take one step at a time during my healing journey, so I'm breaking my goals into fundamental, buildable steps each week:
Week 1- Drink 2L H2O per day
Week 2- Consistently track my meals (calories and macros)
Week 3- Sleep 7-8 hours each night (Consistent sleep routine and sleep prior to midnight each night)
Week 4- 6k steps each day --I'm hoping that this is realistic by our 4th week since I just had ankle surgery two days ago

  • Happy Monday, DietBetters!

The weigh-in window is officially OPEN! 🎉 No need to rush, but submitting early gives you extra time to crush your goals. ⏰ Deadline to submit is January 14th.

Heads-up: If you're in multiple games, remember that the final weigh-in dates might vary since this game kicks off on a Wednesday (January 1st) instead of our usual Monday start. Keep track of those deadlines so you don't miss out on a dime!

Keep in mind, all DietBet dates and times are posted in Pacific Time.

    Let's do this! 💪
