I've caved in today. My guilty pleasure being hot Cheetos 8 1/2 oz bag. And I don't feel bad.
You guys have a good night!

Literally one time I realized I was holding my phone as I weighed and it made the difference re-weighing without my phone hahaha

  • Just a few days left! I was worried I wasn’t going to make it with this one but I think I’m ok. How’s everyone doing?

  • I did have a nice non-scale victory today. It's the 50th day in a row of logging my meals. That's important to me because it's when I am most accountable and do the best in my weight loss.

Haven't found any non-scale victories in your journey yet? Here's a nice list to look at, and hopefully you'll find something that resonates with you!

50 days is something to celebrate. Great work Keith! Today I noticed at the gym my clothes fit so much better. I kept touching my stomach in awe because I used to have a pouch I tucked into my yoga pants. But today there was no pouch. I couldn’t stop checking it LOL however the scale is stuck at 204 STILL :( Thank you for this post and for always remaining so consistent and positive!

Good job, Keith. I still have not gotten back to that. It really does help. I like that my energy level is much higher. I used to hate housework, now I'm becoming a bit obsessed lol

  • I picked the worst time to have my first stall of this most recent weight loss effort.

I know they are going to happen, because I've certainly been through them before. I know there will be frustrations that on certain days make it seem like it's frivolous to keep on trying. And I know that each stall ends, and you start losing again.

But it doesn't make it any easier to endure each time a new stall hits.

I've resigned myself to understanding that I'm not going to hit the goal next week. I have a lot of tricks in my bag to try to make that happen and I'm going to employ them to see how close I can get. But I already have a plan on how to react if I don't reach the goal, and that will be to celebrate the loss I did achieve in this game. It's a significant amount! It's just not what I need to meet this goal.

And I will keep on plodding along. I'm in month two of a six-month transformer, so I still have goals, and I still have a reason to keep trying. But even if there wasn't a Transformer, I still have goals, and I want to meet them at least one time in my life.

Don't give up, friends - I'm not giving up either!

I love your wisdom!

Sorry to hear about the stall, but you never know what will happen this last week especially when you keep pushing! But like you said, even if it doesn't work out for the 4% this time, you still made progress, you're still getting healthier, and that's a huge win! Best of luck to you, and congrats on the loss you've already achieved

Hi everyone! I’m really struggling today. Been working a lot lately and even though I’m doing okay on my progress, I’m feeling very run down. Ended up eating all my calories and it’s not even dinner yet. What do you guys do to refocus during difficult times?

A little late responding but when I feel like I need to 'get back on the horse' my first step is to focus less on what I'm eating and more on WHEN I'm eating. I try to have my last meal by 7:00 pm and focus on not snacking in the evenings. For some reason this helps me reset. You've got this!

Becky F.

Don’t let one day ruin your whole plan. We all have off days. Consider your calorie budget as a weekly one, and you had slightly more today than normal. Have egg white, tomato, basil omelette for dinner and call it a night!

  • Today has been a really awful day. I mean REALLY awful!

I'm so motivated to lose weight right now, but my body seems to be fighting me. I thought I was getting to the point where I could start on some serious walking leading to getting back on my bicycle sometime this spring. But the knee I had replaced last June has "exploded" in pain and pressure on each of the last two days, to the point where I can barely walk. I've had to go back to using a cane for stability this evening, and getting in and out of a car is a painful ordeal. Orthopedist appt. made for this Friday.

On top of that, the heart issue I thought I was on top of kicked back in today, perhaps from all the pain. I'm supposed to be having a cardiologist call to make an appointment but it hasn't happened yet, so I will chase that down tomorrow.

    I'm so frustrated!

But...there is good news. Before the weight loss began in January, this would have been an evening where I would have tried to drown my frustration in unhealthy foods, looking for soul-less flavor to try to cheer me up.

But not today. I just ate my last snack of the day, and I'm still 300 calories under my goal! I needed this victory, but I was so busy feeling sorry for myself that I didn't see it until just a few minutes ago.

Healthy habits can move us forward, and they can sustain us when we fall backwards. I want comfort, but not in food that will do me no good.

Thanks for letting me vent. Hopefully tomorrow goes better than today, but if it doesn't, I still won't turn to food to comfort my pain. I'm too good for that!

Sorry to hear about these complications Keith. So proud of you for getting back to the straight and narrow despite adversity!!

Rose L.

Sending all the positive vibes your way! I hope they are able to get you fixed back up quickly. In the meantime, nutrition is what you can control. Maybe try some upper body exercises while sitting for activity? Keep a positive attitude. I can see how much you inspire others here, let us lift you up in support too!

Prioritize protein over basically everyone other macronutrient. It really does help with hunger and muscle retention.

Karen R.

I’ve finally started to walk every day. Some days it is 3.5 miles and others it is 1 mile. I have to keep moving and just don’t see the scale move unless I am.
