  • Well this week has been better. Last week sucked! The weight is finally moving again in the right direction and I’m feeling good. Another warm day today in my part of Oz (we are coming out of summer into autumn) so that calls for an easy dinner of marinated chicken, airfryer potatoes and salad. Yum!!!

I live in Australia, just outside of Melbourne. We are technically in Autumn now (summer ends on 28 Feb) but March is always hot. We have a week of weather in the 90’s (or 30’s Celsius) where we are and it’s horrid. Makes it hard to get out and exercise outdoors unless you do it early, but it hasn’t really been cooling down much overnight so it’s still quite warm in the mornings. Good job getting the walk in though

  • Starting the week off right! It’s a public holiday here in my part of Australia so I’m doing a bit of food prep for lunches today. Had a personal training session this morning at the gym. Reached my daily step target by lunch time. I won the January DietBet, then completely lost the plot for February, so I’m recommitting for March. Good luck to everyone who’s joining for March. Let’s make it a great month! 💪????💪????💪????

I'm from Australia too, this is my first time. Did you have your winnings paid through PayPal in January? Good luck with the next month ahead

livingmyBecslife

Hey Belinda! Where abouts are you? I’m in Geelong, down south. The winnings from the January DietBet was only a couple of $$ so we got our pledge plus the extra couple $$ returned. It initially just went into my DietBet account as a credit which I then used to pay for the Feb round. At least that way I wasn’t paying extra for the currency conversion. So I didn’t get it returned to me.

Anyone else been in a weird funk this month? Or just me? Nothing is going bad but also not awesome just somewhere in between and I’ve been in a consistent funk most of this month. Very unlike me and ready to pull out of it.

I’m always off and on like that

I’m hearing ya! January I was super committed, ate well, moved more and just generally was in a good mindset. This month….hardly been to the gym, pretty much only going once a week for my personal training session, hardly walking with the dog, diet has been not great. And I got new scales and realised how bad the old ones were for lying to me haha . But back on track hopefully for March….need to set some new goals, make sure I’m prepared with lunch’s and stuff so I don’t have to stress about things. Good luck for a new month :)

I can sympathise with you! I spent Jan-March last year dealing with chronic gallstone attacks. I had multiple stones with the biggest being 16mm in diameter (the bile duct is only 5mm). Had my gallbladder removed on Easter Tuesday, but they left a couple of small stones behind, so had to have a second procedure done the following week. Try just eating bland food like plain chicken, toast, potatoes or if you can tolerate some salad. I struggled a lot because one week I could eat something, the next I’d eat that same thing and I’d have a massive attack and be in a lot of pain. From about mid Feb, I was having about 3-4 attacks a week. Once I recovered from the surgery, I’ve been fine. Don’t have any real issues with food since. Some people can struggle a bit if they eat something too fatty etc. I did have one day where I had pain like I was having an attack and I put it down to the fact that I’d had a few days of eating pretty crappy food and it was my body letting me know that wasn’t good. Good luck, hopefully the surgeon is happy to operate and you don’t have to wait too long

@everyone update I have pancreatic insufficiency and the medication that I take for it. CREON causes the gallstones so no matter what I do the medication will continue to cause them. I had an attack so bad two weeks ago I ended up in the hospital for a week and then in surgery and in the hospital this MondayI am home now. Thank you for all the well wishes and prayers.

It makes me feel better to go without so much food (especially sugary foods) then when I eat the serving sizes I use to. We can do this!

So true! I can always tell the difference in my body and energy levels when I eat sugar and carbs. Hate feeling so lethargic and bloated. I barely drink for that reason too.

  • Woohoo!!!! I did it! The last few days had been challenging and I didn’t think I’d get there but the scales were kind to me today. The last few months I’ve been sitting in a bit of a plateau losing/gaining the same 2kilos so this DietBet was my chance to try and kick those 2 kilos to the kerb and I lost those plus a few more (6.2kg in fact or 13.6lbs) by cleaning up my eating and tracking most days in MFP and upped the exercise significantly.
I’m down a total of 53kg (117lbs) from my heaviest 4 years ago, and 35kg (77lbs) in the last 18 months. I haven’t been this weight in about 15 years. I still have about another 100lbs to lose, but I know I’ll get there.
Good luck everyone….i’ll be back for the next one ????
