  • Day 5 workout done! I’ve been on top of my nutrition as well and have lost 5lbs. We’ll see how I handle the weekend. We’ll be out of town and will be eating out. My go to is asking for cottage cheese and a yam. I’ll probably add in chicken breast or a hamburger patty… Like Megan and Joel say, keep it simple.

Something to note about workouts: more or longer isn’t always better.

It’s easy to get into a mentality that you need to workout 60-90 minutes to really make any weight loss progress, especially when you’re up against a short time table, like this DietBet. But remember that it’s all about finding the balance between your calorie intake and workouts. You do not need to kill yourself physically, thinking that will help. In fact, it can hinder results, like creating more inflammation in your body and/or retain more water because your body is trying to recover. This also goes for double workouts in a day.

Instead, focus on a SOLID workout that may be closer to 30-60 minutes (max). You’ll be able to push yourself harder since it’s a shorter amount of time, while still getting a solid burn. Remember as well, that muscle activation from weight lifting does increase your caloric burn throughout the day vs. just cardio. 😉👍

I sit most of the day for work. I have found that a 45 minute walk, even if it’s broken up throughout the day and a shorter focused workout 30-45 minute is a sweet spot for me.

Somedays all I do is walk though too. I have been dealing with a muscle spasm in back lately so walking has been my primary.

What you drink matters!

Just like what you eat matters in your weight loss success, what you drink matters also. If you are consuming beverages with calories, remember to track them because those calories still count!

Drink your water and if you are wanting something else fun to sip on try seltzer water, non caloric water enhancers (I personally like Stur Liquid Water Enhancers) or for a once in a while soda substitute try Zevia.

I drink over 100 oz of water every day. I get so tired of it. I have cut alcohol during the week for this month.

I do around 2L of water per day, and some coke zero during dinner. :blush: (1 cup to 1.5 cup)

  • Only 3 days in and I feel amazing. Counting macros and calories really is the key for me… and no sugar, aside from fruits. Inflammation in my face is already gone and I’m down nearly 5lbs!

    *I’m 5’5” and started out at 141lbs.

How do you find the LIIFT MORE super block workouts? I’m doing the regular 8 week LIIFT MORE but wanted to do this hybrid calendar for this challenge. I did a search but the super block isn’t coming up. Thank you!
