Welp, I'm going to miss. I hope those of you who made it enjoy your portion of my $40! 😆

Still, all is not lost. I dropped 3%, and, while I could make it with a 4 day fast and 2 workouts a day, my jam is losing through moderation, not crash diets or working out like an Olympian. It has been working for me and it will continue to work for me in the long term.

A year from now, I'll look like the different person I already know I am.

Good luck, everyone!

You are doing so great! I am on the same page. I didn't even drop 3 %, but still, I managed to chose healthy options for meals and snacks way more often than before. Also, I worked out twice a week. I fell off the bandwagon last week because my little one had to go to hospital and that totally stressed me out (she's perfectly fine!), but I will get back to meal planning and working out next week. Best of luck, everyone!

Kait

Great job! 3% is awesome!!

Hallo, ich finde dieses Spiel sehr motivierend. Ich bin nur noch 500g entfernt. Jedoch kommen meine Tage demnächst, das könnte eine Herausforderung werden. Wünsche allen ein schönes Wochenende💪

  • Happy Friday!

As we head into the weekend, let's talk about something that's fundamental to any goal we set, whether it's weight loss, career aspirations, or just personal growth. Vince Lombardi famously said, "The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary."

We often get caught up in the idea of instant gratification, especially in today's world of quick fixes and viral moments. But Lombardi's quote reminds us that true success is built on a foundation of consistent effort. It's about the daily choices, the small sacrifices, and the unwavering commitment to our goals.

It's the meal prepping instead of ordering takeout.
It's the extra hour of study after a long day.
It's pushing through a workout when you'd rather stay in bed.

This isn't to say that success is always grueling or without its rewards along the way. But it does mean we need to be realistic about the required effort. It's about embracing the process, even when it's challenging.

Lombardi's words are a call to action. They remind us that we can shape our own outcomes through hard work and dedication. So, let's escape the illusion of effortless success and embrace the reality: the work we put in today will determine the success we see tomorrow.

Let's put in the work and prove Lombardi right! What's one thing you'll do today to move closer to your goal?

Today is my meal prep day! Having healthy options in the fridge is what saves me. I made protein bagels this morning and the entire house loves them!

DietBet Laura

Flora, I agree having quick, healthy options makes such a difference! Planning ahead like that is such a key to success!

I've been ingredient-prepping! I pressure cook white potatoes, steam broccoli, make rice, cook up some tofu, and do some other things depending on my mood. Then, when I'm hungry, can assemble what sounds good in the moment.

I have 4 pounds to go! But as a woman, we know how certain things can make our weight fluctuate! I’m going to make it!

Gina J.

Weighed in this morning 0.1 under goal, but scared to keep it under. Gotta keep going!

Fellows, if you are not fasting: how do you manage your calorie intake in the course of a day?
I find that I am most likely to remain in a calorie deficit if I try to delay the first meal of the day until I am really hungry (usually by 10 or 10:30) and stick to fruit, veggies and some yoghurt, eggs for proteine and few carbs. Because in the evening, my self-discipline is pretty much gone and I want to eat a hearty dinner, possibly a little dessert as a reward after putting the little one to sleep. 😅 It's so hard to say no to a treat when bed time occurs!

Love this advice, thank you! I have a calorie tracking app. Adding a small sweet treat in advance and working with what is left for the rest of the day might just be the idea that I needed!

DietBet Laura

Heidi, Yay! I hope you play around with the idea to see if it helps! Over the years I've heard of many calorie-tracking apps and they all sound great! I think like diet plans there's no right way, it's finding the one that's right for you.

My advice for using them is if they give you a calorie range triple-check that number in other places. My friend was using one that was giving her 1200 to 1500 calories a day and was struggling to lose weight. I kept telling her that wasn't enough calories and when she adjusted the calories up she started to lose again. All that to say, be sure you're eating at a deficit but eating enough so that your body knows it's okay to drop weight. :)

Please let us know how it goes!

1 week down! Check in time! How is everyone doing? Were you successful sticking to the plan in week one? Still plenty of time. Week 1 was difficult, not going to lie. Think I did everything I needed to do to get the ball rolling . Sometimes making so many big changes at once, makes it seem so much harder to tackle. Reminding myself, did not put the weight on overnight, so its not going to fall off overnight. This will test me, but definitely up for the task! Heres to a strong 3 weeks ahead and a win/win outcome! 💪?

Love this, so motivating!

Steve, I agree! I've learned that I need to make healthy changes one at a time or I give in way too fast. I love your attitude! This is definitely a win/win situation! You got this!

Heidi, yes! That and apples! I love sliced apples sprinkled with cinnamon dipped in crunchy PB21! I'm not a big peanut butter fan at all but pair it with a banana or apple and I'm on it! :D

DietBet Laura

My daughter taught me the saying, "You can't outrun a bad diet, " which helped me shift my mindset about diet and exercise. If I have healthy, quick options I will do better. I have been ingredient-prepping for a while and it suits me! Meal prep didn't work because sometimes I didn't want what I made. By prepping healthy things like chicken, potatoes, rice, quinoa, beans, and cutting up vegetables I can put together a bowl quickly and have it match my mood! :D

  • Four months ago, I was 340 pounds.
I smoked a pack a day and drank double digits nightly.
    I didn’t exercise, didn’t care and didn’t really believe I could change.

    Today, I walked a 5K.

This isn’t just a celebration post.
    It’s an obituary.

    THE OLD ME DIED TODAY

    I took his cigarettes first.
He coughed through withdrawal, wheezing like a haunted accordion.
    He begged. I didn’t listen.

I ripped the booze from his hands after that.
    No more stupors.
    No more blackout blessings.
Just long nights with no sedation—only memory, and the noise in his head.

    I controlled his mouth.
    He begged for cake.
    I gave him discipline.
He clawed at the fridge like it owed him something.
    But the kitchen stopped answering.

    Then I made him move.
    He panicked.
Ramped up the anxiety, tried to drown me in it.
    Tight chest. Fast heart.
    "You're dying", he whispered.
    "Sit down. Stop."
    But I didn’t.

    He shrieked from the knees.
    He gasped for air.
    And I kept going.

    He got smaller.
    Quieter.
    Sickly.

He followed me to the starting line,
    gaunt and gray,
    barely upright.
He staggered behind me with every step,
    knees buckling,
    lungs failing.
    But he still begged.

    "You’ve made your point,
    This is far enough,
You don’t have to prove anything."

    But I kept moving.

    Mile by mile,
    his voice got smaller.
    His shadow grew thinner.
    By the final stretch,
    he was barely there—
    a silhouette on life support.

When I crossed the finish line,
    I didn’t raise my arms.
    I didn’t look at him.
    I pulled the plug.

    And I’m just getting started.

  • Happy Wednesday!

Just a little nudge to remember to drink your water today! It's truly wonderful how water helps us. It can give you more energy, support your weight loss, help your body feel clean, make your skin glow, and keep your brain working its best!

To drink more water, carry a reusable bottle, set reminders, and add hydrating foods like fruits and vegetables to your diet. Infuse water with flavors like lemon or cucumber!

Do you enjoy plain or flavored water? How about flat or fizzy? Do you have a dedicated container or bottle that works for you? What's been working for me is to have a 30 oz container with a straw and I pick it up and make sure I take 10 to 12 sips each time. I was surprised to see that I can go through 3 refills a day this way!

Please share your tips and tricks!

Yay, Heidi! Getting a new water bottle is fun! At least I think so! :D I just saw a water bottle the other day that works with an app! It had lights around the bottom and was pretty! But wow, tech for hydration...I could get into that! lol!

If I can drink my 40 oz Stanley by noon and refill for the rest of the day, I’m good!
