What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone

Hi Guys. Some of you know I started a GLP-1 (Wegovy) a few months ago. (18 weeks to be exact). Is anyone else taking these? I’d be interested to hear your thoughts.
I’m sticking with it because it counters insulin resistance so I’m able to lose some weight and get my blood sugar regulated. But the side effects have been awful. Weight loss is still slow, but at least moving. (About 1/2lb - 1 lb a week.) Anyway, I like to be upfront with my journey, so that’s what’s been up.
I’d love to hear your experience if you’re on or have tried a GLP-1. I know it’s different for everyone.

I tried Semaglutide a couple years ago and while I did lose like 15 pounds - I couldn’t up the dosage bc it made me so nauseous and gave me headaches and no energy. After I quit I gained all that plus some. So now I’m still trying to lose that. I recently started Retatrutide and I haven’t had any of those side effects but haven’t lost much weight either - it does sort of rev the metabolism and give you energy but also counters the glp-1 appetite effect. I’ve read where people combine them to get that satiety effect. I don’t want to tho. I am just now getting up to a regular dose this week and I do actually feel like it’s helping my hunger now.
PS - 1/2-1 lb a week is great!

Thanks Allyson. Keep me updated - I’d like to hear how it goes when you’re at the full dose. (I wonder if insurance even covers combining the meds?)
I’ve only gotten to 1mg so far and the nausea and fatigue have been killer, so I’ll probably stay here and try to adjust. As long as I continue to lose and generally stay vertical, it feels worth it :-)
