How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

  • Wow. I’m disappointed. My scale literally sits on four pads, but I need to re-weigh because a referee think my scale is sitting on the piece of paper??? C’mon, this is getting ridiculous. I took almost the exact same picture for my weigh-in photo and that was accepted!! Now I have to be super careful with what I eat so I don’t go over my weight??!?! Not that I was going to pig out, but geez.

I have included both photos my weigh IN photo is first

Hi Rachel! I see that we already responded to your email, but I wanted to apologize for any inconvenience or frustration. Since we need to be sure that scales are not resting on anything that could cause an uneven surface, best practice is to show separation between your scale and weigh-in word. Sorry again for the trouble!

I understand that you have your rules, but when those of us who have worked hard and are proud of our weight loss, have to prove it beyond the shadow of a doubt, even though we’ve done nothing to cheat or in any way, it really takes the fun out of it. I worked hard to last four weeks to lose the weight that I did and I can assure you that I verified my weight before I ever stepped on the scale with a piece of paper under it. The paper was touching absolutely nothing on the scale because it sits on four little posts so that’s it. I hope I win this one because I resubmitted my weight this morning and I will not do it again. And then I’m done with Dietbet…

Because I probably sound petty by complaining about this, I just need to clarify that the last couple diets I have done I have also had to resubmit my weight when is very clearly accurate, I wouldn’t have submitted it. I think one time I entered the wrong weight because it is harder for me to see the numbers when they’re far away because I am in my 50s… But other than that it’s always some little thing And I just it’s not fun anymore.
