Weighed myself first thing this morning and was 0.2 pounds over my goal weight. Went on my morning walk and re-weighed well under. I guess that's one benefit of the heat and humidity in New Orleans. There is always a lotta sweat!! 😅 Now on to round 2!

Amazing! I will probably weigh-out tonight too.

A slight bump in the road for me this past week, as a 5-day road trip over the weekend didn't exactly result in the best food choices. But hey, is it really a road trip if you don't eat gas station snacks? I did keep up all my step goals, and now back to my regularly scheduled calorie amounts! 😁

Sarah, your post is one of the most relatable things I’ve read all week ???

What kind of road trip doesn’t involve gas station snacks, weird combos, and a little sugar-fueled regret? ????

The fact that you still hit your step goals while road-tripping? That’s legendary behavior ???

Most people (Me?) barely move between naps and snacks, and here you are, walking through it like a boss ??

You bounced right back into your routine, no guilt, no drama. That’s how it’s done. Progress isn’t about perfection. It’s about direction. And you’re moving forward with style?

Thank you for showing us how to hit beast mode..

Let’s go ???

I just wanna put it out there, diet bet works for me. I’ve lost 10 pounds in two weeks and I am not using those weight loss drugs whatsoever. I am doing a high protein diet, Zumba almost every day and not eating after 6 o’clock. I lost the weight about 4 years ago, then let life knock me down & gained it back. But now with my new Zumba family I know I can do this for good!!

Love this app keeps me accountable. Let the competitive nature in me come out, and it works.!!!

Way to go Kim. Looks like you have a great rhythm going.

Kim, this is so inspiring! ? Ten pounds in two weeks is amazing, and you’re doing it with Zumba, high protein, and no meds is powerful. You are showing what consistency and community can do.

Life may have knocked you down before, but now you’re rising with purpose and joy. That Zumba family energy is real! ??

DietBet does unlock something in us.

Accountability, momentum, and a reminder that we are stronger than we think.

Keep dancing, keep showing up, and keep believing in yourself.

You’ve got this for good this time ??✨

Hi everyone!! Just now taking a look at the messages this past week. Looks like we might have a group to interact with here!

I've done a few of these challenges before, the first ones coming out of the COVID/work from home weight gain that a lot of people experienced. In 2021-2023, I lost 50+ lbs. Gained some back, lost it again, gained it again (about 20-25 +/-). Since I found myself back on the upswing WHILE running 3x a week, I decided to join a transformer.

My biggest issues are 1) drinking calories (pop/soda mostly) and 2) giant portion sizes of all the delicious savory things. To combat this, I am back to basics. Making sure I have water available at my fingertips at all times and tracking calories (I use an old WW Flex point system).

Hope to see everyone meet their goals in the next few months!!

Yo-Yo-ing sucks. I've been there too many times! Part of the problem is that I slow down or stop the intensity and the focus, after reaching my goal weight or close to my goal weight.

This time, I REALLY, REALLY want it to last forever...
so I enlisted my daughter to exercise-walk with me for 18 months...which is WAY MORE than I need to lose the 70-80 pounds.
(kind of like a personal trainer/coach with a modest financial incentive...another win/win). This way, she will keep me walking about an hour a night, even after I reach my goal weight. This should dramatically help me maintain my goal weight long-term.

Once I'm in the groove exercise-walking fast, up hills, etc. for an hour a night, that cake, french fries, etc. doesn't seem so enticing anymore. It's simply not worth it...SO the regular exercising actually keeps my eating in check as well.

I can completely relate to your experience. I am in the same boat and all we can do is meet ourself where we are and do our best to make heavier choices! We go this!!!

Thinking of joining another 2 Transformers starting soon.
You are allowed to play 3 at once (during the same 6-months)...
and I am working hard to lose the weight anyway.

Lots of money upfront, though...kind of like winning at losing weight...delayed gratification is the name of the game.

Thoughts?

Hi Steve! Here’s my experience, if it helps -
I joined DB last year, got all excited, paid the Membership fee, and joined the max allowed - 3 Transformers and 3 Kickstarters simultaneously. And I won ALL of them! Lotsa :moneybag:, very happy.

Over the next 3 months I gained back 12 pounds. Eek! :confounded: So I joined one Transformer to get started again. I lost spectacularly- I GAINED 10 pounds in that game.
So here I am again in 3 Transformers and 3 Kickstarters. I guess I have to have a significant amount of money at stake to boost my motivation! :joy::joy:

Steve

Interesting insight!

Inspired by the Steve and Eric's posts about walking with their daughters, how does everyone get their steps in each day?

I've been taking the bus to and from work and trying to leave my car at home as much as possible as a way to work in more steps naturally. I'm really fortunate to have bus stops that are not too far away from where I live. I've also thought about getting a small walking pad for my office at work, but it makes me self conscious to think about my coworkers listening to the noise of it everyday. If anyone has any quiet walking pad recommendations, I would sure appreciate it!

Maybe you could walk past your bus stop to the next one? Or get off early?

I try to go for a walk first thing in the morning. Otherwise I find myself pacing back and forth in my house, which is less than 50 steps one way (clearly I've done it once or twice) trying to make my goal when I am ready for some shut eye!!

I live in the city so M-F I walk to and from the subway and bus stops for work. HOWEVER-

The city is Jakarta, not known for its great infrastructure, ha! Though it has definitely improved over the past 5 years.
So depending on which location I’m visiting, my commute usually involves significant walking distance (still better than taking a taxi, which while super cheap can be stuck in traffic for ages!)
