Kinda frustrated over here. I did not make this round, even though I was already at my goal weight at the previous weigh-in.
This month has been kind of a rollercoaster, both in my life and on the scale. Even though I made 99% healthy choices, my weight hovered around the goal weight. So I waited till the last opportunity to weigh in, but was still 1 kilo over.
It feels like my body is saying, this is enough weight lost? Is this relatable to anyone?

Yes. I almost didn’t make the round goal and I had reached my round goal weight already last week, but it was too early to weigh in. Then my cycle came and I gained 3 lbs and it left luckily but I barely made it hours before the deadline! Your body might be retaining water from stress, just focus and keep making good decisions - they create compound interest over time! It’s the last stretch, work on the stress and keep showing up for yourself. You will likely make it if you already made it there last month, it’s just 1 kilo! You got this!!

K B.

I had a weigh-out on the 25th and was 3 pounds over, but then the last week of my cycle kicked in and 4 pounds just disappeared. Bodies are obstinate.

My motivation to continue losing in round 6 is to meet goals in the second Transformer I'm in. AND...to continue the push to get healthy since I'm running out of time.

Thalia G.

Keith, you are likely also winning extra time you have left by getting healthier! :)

Anyone else not won any rounds but lost 6% so you’re still in this thing? Just hit 6% :)
Congrats to everyone meeting their “final” goal weight.

I’m learning a lot about my body and how much I need to specifically target weight loss to make it happen. I was pretty dedicated to the idea of small sustainable changes, but maybe a month of bigger (hopefully still sustainable) changes is what I need to get to 10%.

Yep!! This has been my toughest transformer so far and I'm right at 6%. Overall I look at what I've put in and the improvements I've made and it's still worth it to keep making progress :relaxed:

After all, there'd be no use in losing the money and not making progress towards better health, so I'm in this for the long haul!

Thalia G.

I didn’t have progress for the longest time! Only recently finally went past the required 6%. I’m really close to the 10% goal though. Thank goodness for the next round!

  • Hey everyone, remember me? I've not done a very good job of posting lately. It's been busy, but surely I could have found the time to post something! Oh well...

I was on a 9-day journey last week - took my granddaughter to Salt Lake City to participate in a vocal music camp. I made plans to be successful - moderated my food intake each morning with the hotel continental breakfast, bought the ingredients for a week's worth of lunch wraps, and made proper choices eating out at night.

The result? I did lose a couple of pounds while I was away! That made me happy. The downside though is that I'm still stuck in my stall, which is now over 4 weeks long. I really need to increase my exercise if I'm going to break this.

The 13 hour drive on the way back home Saturday has derailed me for a couple of days. Hoping things are all back to normal tomorrow. But eating on point remains through all of it, and that makes me happy, even if the scales aren't moving like I need them to.

Any luck getting to to the other side of your stall yet, Keith? I’m pretty sure you are still well on track to achieve this month’s weigh-in goal though aren’t you? Based on some of your previous sharings + the impression I’ve formed around your determination & consistent effort, I think you may have already reached this transformer’s GW, but are striving for further weight loss in pursuit of your own personal GW. Either way, I know you’ll leave this Transformer victorious and a slimmed down, healthier version of January Keith, who has set in motion convincing habits and is well on his way to reaching his ultimate weight loss goals!

@Thalia - I've been under my goal for a couple of months now. I always do very well with a first Transformer because my weight is so high, it comes off quickly at the start.

@Tara - I do a decent job of getting at or near my protein goals, but to be honest, I don't look at my macro nutrient stats too often. Maybe I need to start doing that!

@Karla - the stall is over! With this weigh-in, I've busted below that stall number by nearly 4 pounds. Now just have to remember this the next time I stall.

@Naomi - I do believe our bodies "adapt" to our new standards, so sometimes changing it up is a good thing. Nearly every day, I eat food simply to make sure I get enough calories so I don't go into "starvation mode," which some people say is a myth but I've battled it before.

@Dale - Stall is over for now. I'm sure there will be another one! The habits are working so far - survived a 8 nights in a hotel room and actually lost weight, due to serious food planning that I stuck to 100%.

I’m 169.0 lb today! After a weekend of barely eating anything, I only lost 1 lb which I had already lost the week before. It’s getting so slow and my challenge goal is 166.7 lb. I’m so close yet feel so far away. Any tips or advice? I’m eating steak and salad every day and doing hot yoga 2-3x a week not sure what much else I can do. Thanks in advance!

You are right on track. Sounds like you are doing all the right things. It’s hard to be patient, but hopefully the number on the scale will reflect all your hard work. I’d just encourage you to drink lots of water and keep up with all those fruits and vegetables.

Naomi D.

Way to go! Sounds like you are on a good track. Your body is probably just getting set to let go of more weight. It sounds like you are low calories but good veggies and protein, it can actually be helpful not to go too low in calories, and when you do eat see if intermittent fasting can help you burn through the stored calories. I find fasting really helps for myself and has kept me in track, while still eating really well in-between fasting windows.

  • How’s everyone going with healthy meal planning? I find that key for me is the planning part. It really helps me to think in advance of the work week what I’ll be cooking for dinners for example and make sure I have the ingredients on hand. It’s when I leave it to end of the work day to consider “What will I make for dinner tonight?” that I’m more likely to go with a less healthy option from the supermarket or even takeaway.

Last night I made a super easy but very nutritious and surprisingly tasty Eggplant parmigiana with basil leaf salad. The recipe is on www.healthyfood.com if you’re interested.

I’ve lately just been doing salads and steak, or chicken. Simple and easy. My weight loss has slowed and I might not make my 10% goal

  • Here’s to cardiovascular health! How is everyone going in Round 4? Perhaps we can share tips and strategies for maintaining motivation?

For me I feel like I’m doing well on the exercise front (it definitely helps having an upcoming half-marathon to prepare for). I’m being consistent with it, plus increasing intensity and challenge as I go. My diet is less consistent, however, and I find myself succumbing to temptation more than what I did in the earlier rounds eg yesterday I bought an almond croissant with my morning coffee. I think I need to guard against “rationalising” bad food choices because of the running I’m doing, as I’ll quickly cancel out any energy deficit! Plus I know that, active or inactive, pastries aren’t going to do me any favour/deliver any nutritional benefits…

Mowing is my main form of exercise. It gets my heart rate up and I can walk at a pace that is comfortable for my knee. It's helping me slowly build up strength in both knees, but especially the one that was most recently replaced.

Thalia G.

I fell off the walking habit bc of finals but am slowly getting back into the groove! I have hot yoga and lots of walking in the horizon for today :)

Some tips - get a ClassPass! You can get 30 days gratuitous and book many classes and try different studios out without having to pay their memberships. You can also book spas for facials and massages when you pay full price. I’m getting two months to try it out and see if I’d rather jump around than go to a traditional gym. It’s helping me look forward to exercise as it’s not the same thing over and over.

I regained 2-3 lb for no reason 😬 perhaps stress interfering? But definitely not making the cutoff for this round. 😢

Too true… & I’ve never had to throw out cookies because they are past their best before date :joy: Although cookies-& similar products-ARE in part guilty for leaving ME in a ‘less than ideal’ condition. Salad, however, is not!
