- Just sharing with the group a couple of things that really helped me. I replaced the pleasure of rich fattening foods with extra spicy Indian or Asian food. The other thing that is really made the difference for me is not just trying to lose weight but trying to get back in shape through cycling. I find it a lot easier to do something fun that loses weight rather than just giving up on food after food after food that I’d rather eat. I’m so happy to be ahead of this game and to have lost more than 60 pounds this year. I spent so many years putting this off and I wish I had done this so long ago because I feel so much better and have so much more energy. I would say to anyone who’s struggling with this, except that this is a lifelong journey, make other changes to make yourself happy, and do the things you would do if you were as healthy as you wish you were.
