How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

I'm really struggling with weight gain these past 2 years. It all started when i switched from a work from home position to going to the office for an overnight shift. I went from an average of over 20,000 steps a day down to an average of 8,000 steps. I end up snacking way too much just to keep myself awake, and my sleep schedule is horrible. Talking like 2-3 hours at a time. Usually 4-6 hours of sleep a day. I know my cortisol levels are high because of all this.

I have asked my boss for a walking pad for my desk, but she's says we can't because it's too much of a liability :(

I'm currently in school to hopefully move off overnights. But just going to take time. I'm just sick of feeling like crap. I try to eat fruit and protein, but my willpower for candy in the vending machine is horrible. Is anyone in the same or similar boat??

That sucks about the walking pad but totally understand the reasoning. Maybe instead you could take breaks every 30 mins to an hour or every time you go to the restroom and walk around the office. Get some extra steps that way!

You’re not alone in this—so many people struggle with shift work and its effects. You’re doing the best you can with a really tough schedule, and that deserves to be celebrated. Keep showing up for yourself, even in small ways. You’re stronger than you think!

Yes - I just try to make taking a walk after work a priority and keeping extra busy when I get home. Do you have a Fitbit or something similar? I really try to push myself everyday to close out those rings
