How is everyone doing? What's your approach?

I am aiming for 10k steps 5-6 days per week, lowering my carb intake (to manage blood sugar), and cutting out unnecessary snacking.

Looks like I’m getting a late start but will participate in the challenges moving forward. Im motivated to do my best with the rest of the time, getting fit for an upcoming vacation. I participated in a January challenge and did well but started gaining a few pounds back, so the journey needs to continue!

I feel like I am going to cry. I’ve been yo-yo dieting for 35 years, and for the first time, it’s affecting my health. I just had my annual physical exam and I have an elevated A1C (“prediabetic“) and elevated blood pressure. I’m struggling to to the activities that I enjoy and I am at my heaviest weight in years. I hope that I can find something that “sticks “; I don’t want to end up needing medication.

Perhaps if you can do the short sprints be proud of what you can do and try to measure how long you can do them. Each time you do them try to go a little bit longer and observe things like wow I felt stronger this time hiking up that specific incline, or I didn’t get as breathless this hike compared to when I tried this a month ago.

@Gracie = Yes, thankfully, I can still run - albeit slowly, and for shorter distances - and I can still do EASY hikes. I want to at least get back to where I was, though. I want to be able to enjoy life.
