Does anyone have any advice on continuing to lose weight after hitting a plateau? I was losing about 5 pounds consistently a month until July and now my weight has plateaued. I think I'm back to my "normal" weight from before I gained 50 pounds but now I'm at the point where I'm trying to get more toned, but it's hard to stay consistent with workouts. most of my weightloss so far has been from walking a ton, but now I think I have to do more.

What has helped me in the past was to change my exercise routine or to increase caloric intake by 50 to 100 calories if I've been at low calories for a while. If at the same low caloric intake for a while, your body adjusts to it, so increasing it by just a little bit could actually help move the scale in the right direction. It's counterintuitive, but has worked for me.

For exercise, if you want to keep on walking, change part of it to walking lunges, body weight squats, and/or skaters (moving side to side). This will rev up your walking while working different muscles. You could do short bursts of HIIT or a 4 or 8 minute tabata when you have a few minutes. The main goal is to get your body moving differently. When I do this I find that I get warmer quicker than just walking.

You’re on the right path. When you start with weight training as you said you’re now doing your muscles tend to store more water making it more difficult to see the “weight loss” on a scale. Also, ever heard of the saying muscle weighs more than fat? Obviously that saying isn’t true for 1 lb of muscle weighs the same as 1 lb of fat. The difference is fat has more volume than muscle. You should be seeing a difference in how your clothes are fitting. Be patient! The scale will start to move again. You can also change up your diet a little to confuse your body! You got this, keep going!!

Hi everybody! I'd like to share the way I want to reward myself into this Journey.

Beside the food, one thing I have always struggle with since I had kids (8y ago) is consistency in my workout routine.

I like running, but also like to do callestenics, HIIT.. I like group classes as well, I did box, yoga..

But lately, I really want to focus on global strenghtening. I lost my mom to cancer this year, and I saw her body lose its strenght to the point where she needed my help to change position in her bed.

So, my new goal in life is not to lose weight to fit in à particular size or anything, but to be strong enough that I can lift myself from the toilet at ninety, or that can maintain an overall strenght if I ever get sick too.

So, (i forgot the main point of this post sorry 😂), l am doing walks/sprint intervall and callestenics workout at home monday trough Friday before the kids get up. But, I would like to have to equipment at home in order to do some strenght training. Before investing more into a home gym, I told myself that if I keep up this routine for three months, I'll take a gym membership (got a nice one near my new house whos open 24/7). And, when I have regularly train at the gym for a certain period of time (to be détermined, then I'll invest in home equipment.

If you read this far, thanks for your attention! ❤ I needed to write this down.

I am curious : whats your reward or treat you want when you reach your goal?

My reward will hopefully be good lab work numbers at my physical on August 24

My reward is fitting better in my clothes, more energy, and hopefully less issues with my left knee. I might even purchase a couple of new tops and jeans.
