Check FlashFood if your local stores use it. It’s an online platform for stores to post reduced items. Check early though, meats especially tend to move quickly!

  • Made some air fried stuffed mushrooms and they came out delicious.

    After being sick last week I went in to get a saline IV and unfortunately it flushed my system. Read somewhere that mushrooms and greek yogurt have electrolytes in them, so decided to use food as medecine to help me feel better. I am really trying to change the way I see food. I no longer want to see it as just a way to stay busy or comfort me. I am trying to view it as fuel and medecine and it has really helped with my weight loss.

    *Ended up not being able to finish all the ones I fixed.

We meal prep every Sunday for the week ahead. Yesterday we fixed baby back ribs in or oven as well as some loin chops braised in a mushroom and beef broth. They both came out so good. We also fixed some lean ground turkey and ground beef so that if we were craving something non-pork we could easily throw something together.

  • Tried a new recipe today (chicken calzone wraps) that I kept seeing all over social media and it made me realize i really need to try new things, and eat more ground chicken! We took a lb of ground chicken, cut in half, rolled out with parchment paper then stuffed with tomato, spinach, light cream cheese, and topped with parm! There are so many ways you could stuff this or modify but we want to do pizza ones next! We also airfryed at 400 for 15 mins. Yum! What's a new recipe you've tried lately or plan too?
