  • Good morning and happy Friday! My weekend starts today so time to hit the gym and then adult for the week.

    Partner and I have been having this discussion lately: do you prefer to workout in the morning or evening? I prefer morning, after I’ve woken up a bit, and he prefers the evening. Heck I’m just waiting to get back outside for our runs, so it doesn’t matter what time. 😊

  • 45 minutes of tree trimming with 3-foot shears, a hand saw, and my best helper. All the upper body I need for today. Probably all the aerobics also :-)

  • Got my steps in yesterday with a full (harvest) moon hike with friends. We left at dusk to watch to moonrise. It would be so easy to exercise if it was always so much fun :-)

After a great week of consistent clean eating and physical activity, I treated myself to a “cheat day” and it immediately set me back. 😢
In the long run, do cheat days work for you? How do you stay consistent, but also reward yourself?

Cheat days don’t work for me. It sort of derails my appetite and portion control for the next day. But of course I have them! When we travel or eat out it’s harder to have control.

Don't have cheat days - have occassional treats instead. You will be less likely to have an F It attitude if you just have a little treat!

Hi, I’m Sarah from Utah! I’ve bounced between the top and bottom of this most recent 10 pounds for months. Ugh! But-my son challenged me to get a 3 week streak of staying within my calorie goal range. Wow! Great advice! I’m on day 13 and am going down and almost broke out of this pound decade! He says after I get that, go for a longer streak. Maybe I treat it like Duolingo; I’m on day 584 with that!

    I'm Barbara in Milwaukee, and I work in Human Resources. I'm currently 13lbs down from my highest weight with a LONG way to go, but any progress is good progress!

    Scariest diet part of October for me is my packed social calendar and that I'm starting a new job in 2 weeks! I'm going to be so busy I don't know when I'll be able to cook for myself.

    I did manage to make myself some pumpkin chili last night, however, so I'm set for several days this week.

    Extra credit - What's the scariest diet thing about this month for you?

    I'll start:
    I'm Rhonda in Northern California and I'm a graphic designer/artist. I’ve now lost almost 50 lbs total from my high weight and about 25 of that in the last year. I’m on a glp-1, which works for me, albeit slowly. About ½ lb/week average.

    Scariest diet part of October for me is 2 big birthdays in addition to candy at every turn - Yikes!

  • Hi I’m Raven I’m from Wisconsin I lost 80lbs and have maintained for the past 6 years but I really would love to get lower than I am and I’ve been struggling since my initial weight loss to lose more hopefully this will get me back on track. Scariest part for me this month is I have an all inclusive trip to Mexico next week and Halloween candy. I feel like these diet bets help me stick to it though ?

My diet goal - I have lost 20 pounds this year but have a long way to go - so breaking goals down into smaller goals will hopefully be more mentally doable. (Like this challenge) Scariest thing this month - candy at work.
