Amy R.

I want to get more active to improve my long term health. Also, carrying less weight will help my joints last longer (now that I’m old enough that my joints have started talking back to me).

I weigh-in and take measurements every Wednesday. Last week, I was the lowest I've been since the start of the year. Today, I'm back up to almost my heaviest and no loss in measurements. I'm recovering from being congested and not sleeping, so I know that has something to do with it, but dang! I've been doing a great job with strength and cardio, and my nutrition is just about as dialed in as it can be at this point in life. I was a personal trainer in my previous life, so I know the ins and outs of how rest and hormones and all of that affect weight loss, but experiencing it is incredibly frustrating. If you're struggling, know you're not alone, but don't give up. Shake it off and keep moving.

I'm feeling incredibly frustrated with the scale today and I feel better knowing I'm not alone. It's so disheartening, even if I logically know it's just temporary!

Veronica, you are on a good path, and muscle is more dense than fat. I want to build muscle like you!

I’m doing my first Dietbet ever, and luckily I have a housemate doing it with me to keep me on task. We are cooking dinners at home more often than we used to, and the left-overs make good lunches.
My biggest challenges are avoiding beer and wine, and avoiding eating extra helpings “because it is healthy food.”
I know it was a good day when I go to bed feeling just a little bit hungry—not tummy growling, but like the food has all been digested. I sip a cup of decaf tea and tell myself I’ll be happy when I weigh in the next morning.

Why to go! Sounds like you’re doing good things for yourself.

Same here. My husband is trying to lose wait also so that helps. We have to eat in or it doesn't work out well. Good luck, you're doing great!
