How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

Happy Monday and welcome to Day 1! We're officially underway, and we're so glad you're here.

If you haven't already, introduce yourself! Tell us where you're from, how you found DietBet, and whether this is your first game or your fifteenth. We love getting to know everyone.

Now that the game has started, take a few minutes today to make a plan. You don't need to overhaul your entire life this week. A few small habits you can actually stick with will take you much further than trying to be perfect.

Plan your meals - Write down what you're having each day and have the ingredients on hand. Or do some meal prep! This leaves no reason why you have to go out or grab something quick that may not be as healthy.

Plan your workouts - Treat them like work and show up even if you don't want to go. You are the boss and you need to be tough on yourself. You'll always be glad you did! 

Track your water intake - Water is essential and we have to drink it! For some of us it comes naturally but for others, it's a chore. Find a way that helps you enjoy it and make it happen!

Track your food - It's easy to forget about those little "grabs" we do when we see snacks on the table. This will keep it real. Whether it's writing it down or just taking photos, the accountability really helps!

Get enough sleep - Getting adequate, quality sleep is an important part of a healthy weight loss plan.

Have fun and relax - Self care is important too!

Hi, I’m Melanie from Missouri, USA. I did a few diet bets several years ago. I’m currently doing a year long exercise and diet program. No fads, just the standard recommendations.

I started with just a fiber goal and walking. I added a protein goal and cardio 3x/week. I feel like it really clicked when I figured out 30g of fiber, 90g of protein, and cardio. I’m currently working on adding strength training.
