I get caught up in the scale, too. I had blood work done in February and June, and I am seeing positive results. I am going in next month and expect great improvement!

Hey! Don’t worry about the past. You only have control over today. After losing over 100 lbs to date, I’ll tell you that consistency is the most important for success + not putting it off to ‘tomorrow’ or ‘Monday’ or ‘the new year’. Start right now. Go on a walk, have a protein shake, if you’re at a restaurant dinner order something not carby or calorie dense.

Your body will thank you for anything that you can do so never feel ‘far away’. Any progress is good and welcomed. Any progress is a step ahead from where you were yesterday. It’s all always worth it, no matter how ‘small’.

Also, if it’s water weight, don’t worry about it! Do watch out for anything making you retain water, though (elevated salt intake, inflammation from processed foods). The scale can lie to us - I’ve been able to keep my sanity by making sure my fat % and waist circumference goes down. Water weight is temporary and doesn’t matter in the long run. I’ve accepted that my weight will fluctuate +/- 3 lbs on a daily basis. If I eat processed foods, I’ve seen it fluctuate +5 to 10 lbs over a week (I’m really not exaggerating on this one - I’ve measured it a few times). So keep doing what you need to do and the number will eventually work its way out. Trust the process. If you completed your steps for the day (activity, sleep, min water, protein intake, low carbs, calorie limits), then you’ve won even if the scale doesn’t agree.

Let’s go all! I know a few of us didn’t reach our month 2 goals but there are 4 more months. Please keep going! You can definitely finish strong for month 6. Keep the faith and forget the last 2 months if they weren’t the best. At the end of the day, anything is progress and your health will thank you for it ❤

Ever weigh yourself before and after a shower? I assumed that the water absorbed by my hair and skin would make me a little heavier after a shower, and I’ve been surprised to find out that’s not the case. Usually I’m a little bit lighter after a shower.

Some food for thought in case you find yourself just a bit over your goal this month— try weighing again after a shower. Good luck to everyone!

Ugh! Being back to work, sitting in meetings and going out to eat, my weight is UP four pounds from my last progress weight in....I'm so frustrated with myself.....One week to turn it around. By the grace of God, I can do it.
