I just weighed in a little heavier than earlier this week. I guess that’s what happens when you have Japanese food the night before. This bet will be a challenge because I am going on a cruise in the middle of it But I thought it would be good motivation before and after the trip to get it together! I just steps on the scale, and boy did I get an unpleasant surprise. I stopped going to the gym the whole summer, and the eating has been out of control lately. Ok. Let’s start here. Here’s to dropping the weight. It’s a never ending circus, isn’t it? Franny, PLEASE provide that extra source of motivation!! Good luck to all!

Who else is on or has tried a GLP-1?

I'm in week 46 of Wegovy, and it's a crazy ride. My weight loss is really slow and I have a lot of side effects, but I’m still doing it. My doctors and for that matter my daughter‘s doctors want us to both keep with it and just treat the side effects as much as we need. Truthfully, I don’t think if I was doing it alone, I could stick with it because I have someone to ask, "Does this happen to you or am I just dying?" Since we both have the same symptoms, it’s easier to check that it’s the GLP-1 and not something else. I also think that maybe our doctors are excited that somebody who feels so crappy is staying on the program because a lot of people drop out. I think we are a bit of an experiment to see how far we’ll take it and how long we’ll stay. So far, I’m on track to end around November and my daughter may be 6-12 months after that. But we’ll see. Things just keep slowing down, so it’s hard to know.

(I lose average .5/lb per week on Wegovy and my blood sugar has normalized.)

Two week push—

4 days at the gym. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.

40min treadmill: 1min high intensity, 1:30min active recovery

20min upper body: curls, push ups, rows, presses

15min core.

No more than 1200 calories a day.
Water: 64oz

Sleep: min 8 hrs.

Target loss: 3lbs by Aug 23.

That's 4-5 lbs in about 12 weeks and staying under 150 is challenging. But it's the right direction (down!) and sometime this fall, hopefully I'll be trying to stay under 140! All progress is good progress. We got this! :-)
