Writing this here to hold myself accountable/try to NOT make excuses and need some solidarity if there is any!

I’m a teacher, going back to work on 1/6 after being on maternity leave, and I work at a high school with an indoor track in the gym.
My goal is to walk and/or run 1 mile a day (get my stamina back up to the point where I can run a mile straight and not get winded 😂). This will be on top of all of the walking around I do as a teacher already.
I’d LOVE to be able to just get straight back into running, but I’m nursing my now 10-week-old, and I’m an oversupplier. If I don’t nurse or pump for a bit, I get engorged and heavy feeling - which doeS NOT feel good running/working out lol so I may have to just go on walks for a while until I regulate more down the road!

Congrats, Sara! Also, keep an eye on your supply these next couple of weeks - it's been 3 years since I breastfed, but if I remember correctly, your supply 'evens out' around 12-14 weeks - so your oversupply may regulate. Which will be good for running, but dieting may also impact it - so keep an eye on it! Best of luck, and congratulations!!

Hey all - I was an avid runner and would compete in 5-10ks at least once a month! BUT, then I got pregnant at the end of 2021 that resulted in a miscarriage. I was pretty depressed and lost motivation to do much. Lo and behold, got pregnant again March 2022 and was TERRIFIED of running/working out thinking I’d harm this baby too. Had a healthy baby girl at the end of 2022 but dealt with postpartum anxiety pretty badly. I also was breastfeeding so I was always hungry. Got better toward the one year mark, and made it 14months EBF, and then got pregnant AGAIN! Just had my 2nd daughter in October but NO PPA, still breastfeeding but more conscious of what I’m fueling myself with, and I’m READY AND ANXIOUS to get back running again!

I gained 50lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight back in 2021 and I’m ready to get back to feeling like my old self before becoming a mom. I feel like 2025 is going to be the year of ME!

Congrats on your new baby! I am 5 months PP with my second and also gained about 50 lbs. We got this :muscle: I was always told that the weight falls off when breastfeeding but with both of my babies the weight has been clinging on for dear life lol
