Anyone else gain weight while doing this?! Feeling a bit defeated after seeing ppl lose lbs. I know it’s probably muscle but dang it!

Yes, as you noted muscle weights more than fat so this could be a win for you :trophy:

I tend to have both water retention (plus slow digestion?), and also noticed that the weight was mostly flat once I started working out more earnestly and/or increasing the weight or number of reps I was working out with. Even so, during those flatter weight times, I feel significantly more physically fit and stronger.

Last weekend to go! A few tips:

Get your workout done FIRST! If you’re going to a bbq, party, etc you know you’re not going to do it when you get home, so get it out of the way.

If you’re going to a party or any type of group gathering, eat your healthy foods BEFORE you leave to the shindig or take a shake with you and drink right before you go in. Then you won’t be as hungry and have a better chance of not snacking on the crap.

If you’re going to drink, then try to stay away from cocktails with high sugar content. Sticking with clear mixers like soda water help with calories and you’ll usually drink less because the drinks are stronger.

Remember, if you’re in this to try and nail that 4% weight loss, there will be things this weekend that you HAVE to say no to, and that’s OK! It’s not forever and you’ll be proud of yourself that you did!

We know you got this!!

I was just going to share, I am 64, have been doing Bodi workouts for about 10 yrs. My body does not change much anymore but what I notice the most at my age is the recovery. I volunteer for veteran's honor flights and flight days are brutal because you go on very little sleep but go hard all day long. We had one this week. I was very careful about the fuel I was putting in my body and by 11:00 pm after being up since 2:00 am, someone called me the energizer bunny. A good night's sleep that night and the next day I felt like myself again, wow, the recovery was amazing. Thank you, trainers, for encouraging, so much more that scale wins in life💪

Food pushers, they mean well but they can ruin your diet. Going into the weekend you may have family dinner or a bbq to attend and your well meaning friends and family that show their love with food may be there.

Don't let the food pushers trip you up this weekend and set you back on your goals. Here are a few things you can say to the food pushers in your life:

- A simple and polite "no thank you"
- Say "no thank you" and then change the subject
- "That looks delicious, but I am full and couldn't eat another bite"
- "Thank you, I had a big breakfast and am not hungry yet but will try some later"
- "I would love to try some of your xyz but I am not hungry right now, I would love to take some home for later"
- "I have had plenty, but thank you"

Feel free to share how you navigate food pushers 😊

I bartend for banquets on wkd and most of my colleagues know about the bet. One told me if I ate one of the desserts that was up for grabs (and I really wanted) she would poke me with a fork until I went back to my bar! I have the best colleague! Lol

Great advice, thank you!

Ugh! My weight has been up this week. I thought it was sodium so tried to limit it yesterday and push fluids to flush it out, but it didn't help a whole lot. I know I just gotta push harder, but I was doing so good so it's frustrating!

That has happened to me some weeks. I just remind myself that muscle weighs more than fat cause I am definitely gaining muscle and looking better!!

Sarah-Louise H.

Trust the process and don't give up. You've got this.

Question - with Memorial Day coming out I am going to eat with my family. I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian so I have plenty of plant-based protein while at home, but not at this restaurant. Any suggestions on what I should order? I am leaning towards the childrens menu, so it's a smaller portion. Any other ideas would be appreciated!

Have a snack with protein before you go.

FatBurner

I’m a vegetarian and I usually only order salads at restaurants. Depending on the restaurant poached eggs might be a good option.

I am looking for an app that will do all the work for me to calculate my calories and give me recipes to support the daily intake. And that doesn't cost a fortune. Any suggestions? My nutrition is the hardest part for me, it literally gives me stress to have to figure out how many calories are in my meals. I am either eating too much or not enough.
