Weellll, I had a crappy day yesterday. Went over on calories and was doing some emotional eating. But, I did track everything at least. 😁 And, I’m not giving up (which would have been my reaction to past set backs). Anyone else have some good coping strategies?

Easier said than done sometimes. Maybe when you feel the emotions welling up you could lace up the shoes and go for a walk to get the adrenaline going. Distract yourself. Its hard though, when food has been a comfort it's hard to just switch that off. Take care of yourself.

Setbacks are part of the journey! Don’t beat yourself up over it, that makes it worse. Accept it as an inevitable part of the weight loss process. Tomorrow’s another day! As far as coping strategies go, I have an ongoing list of 5 things I need to do so I make myself do all of them before I ā€œtreatā€ myself. So far I haven’t made it through the list before bedtime.

Hi
How do I make a progress weighin? I am a member but I can only see the unofficial weighin.

On the app, there's a big blue box with white lettering: "Time for your Progress Weigh-in!" with a white Weigh in button. On the browser, look at the top of the right column. There's a message "You haven't weighed in this week!" with an orange Weigh-In button. Those buttons will take you to the official progress weigh-in, the one with pictures and instructions.

@Kori - to qualify for any winnings (pot or member drawings) the weigh in has to be an official progress weigh in, where you send in photos. You can submit unofficial progress weigh ins for your own accountability or to stay on track

Day 3 - how is everyone doing? And WHAT is everyone doing?
Exercise has been a consistent thing for me for quite a while, but nutrition is really what I want to get dialed in. I started tracking with MyFitnessPal for this challenge. Which normally I hate, but with this challenge, it feels more like a game.

So far so good but it’s still early. Good for you on getting the exercise part down pat - I’m still working on that one. For me, it’s 3 meals (no snacks other than veggies), with a focus on protein and fiber. No sweets and only 2 cups coffee at breakfast; any more during the day seems to trigger a desire to reach for an accompanying snack.

Same. I am using the Lose It app. Focusing on fiber and protein and obviously calories. I've had the app for years but I've really backslidden (is that even a word?) and I almost never finish a day. Always start strong then go off the rails at some point. That's what I am going to focus on. If I can just stick to my allotted calories I know I will lose weight. The app has me at about 1500 calories, which is great plenty if I am smart about what I choose to eat.

Ready for this! šŸ’Ŗ?

I’m 9weeks postpartum and so far have lost all the weight gained during pregnancy. Super happy about that. Buuuut…. I was already overweight prior to the pregnancy. ?

I’d gained a lot the past few years, unrelated to being pregnant. Now that baby girl is here, I’m determined to get back to a healthy weight. I don’t want my weight or health to come in the way of being able to do things with her or be there for her now and in the future. šŸ’œ??

What a great motivator! We’ll go above and beyond for our kids.

When your baby/toddler/child is old enough for solid foods, don’t eat what’s left on their plate in the name of ā€œnot wasting foodā€! Feed it to the dog, chickens, garbage can, etc.

I had to weigh in at the doctor’s yesterday and was very discouraged, but it’s better to know what I weigh than not. Also someone took a picture of me and posted it in Facebook without my permission. I was shocked! Sometimes you just can’t ā€˜see’ yourself as you really are. That put the fire under my feet though!

So I’m nervous and afraid I won’t stick to it because I haven’t consistently lost weight in a long time, but I know I can do it. I got a new full length mirror for Diet Bet since the last one broke during our move. I’m finally going to be able to see myself fully. I think it’s a good thing though. Feeling cautiously hopeful!

Remember… only you can control what goes into your mouth. I know how hard it can be sometimes but it’s doable! Tough, but you can do it!

Wow! Are you a sculptor? (Just noticed in your profile pic)

Just completed my first AM workout...Haven't taken my health seriously in way too long. I did what I thought would be an "easy" way to start. Ummm...I'm dead right now. When easy is now hard I know I'm in the right place. Let's get this done!

Had back surgery seven weeks ago and am doing great. But for the last 6 months before surgery, I’ve not walked over two blocks. I had an accident and did nothing but comfort ate. So I’m ready to put my health first.

Have a great day everyone!
