I'm off to a really great start for the first week. My game goal is to lose 5.4 pounds, but my personal goal is 8 pounds which will get me back to my target weight. I'm almost half way there. I find that it's easier to take weight off that you recently gained which is why I try to do these 4 week DietBets as soon as I get more than 4% over my target weight. And I always try to push really hard the first week or two so I don't stress myself out that last week trying to get to goal! It's so easy to over-snack in the evening! If you drink fluids instead it usually helps kill the cravings!

Beth , I agree that drinking fluids helps but then I’ll have such a poor sleep waking up many times at night to go to the washroom . I try to stop drinking lots of water at 8 pm .

  • I made one of my favorites tonight... guilt free pumpkin "pie". I use the normal pumpkin pie recipe but without the crust and using fat free evaporated milk, Stevia, and added whey protein powder. It is delicious and the wedges can be frozen for a quick dessert anytime I get the craving.

  • As a vegetarian my go-to protein powder is NutraBio 100% Whey Protein Isolate-unflavored. I put it in just about everything including baked goods and smoothies, but I also like it mixed with Diet A&W root beer or as a hot drink with my coffee substitute and cinnamon. One serving has 25g protein and only 110 calories. I can share more if anyone is interested. Beth

That’s great ! I have turn to vegan protein powder that I don’t like much since I am lactose intolerant. They taste powdery so I mixe it with frozen fruits to make it easier to drink !

The NutraBio 100% whey protein isolate I use is lactose free so that may be an option for you. It actually comes in several flavors, but I just use the raw unflavored version because I frequently use it in baked goods too.
