  • Day 16: Reset Your Support System
We are in the last week of our Diet Bet! Thank you all for showing up, supporting and encouraging each other! I’m curious about everyones journey and your support system.

I have learned a lot diving into this program twice. I’ve been asking my husband to keep certain foods out of sight on higher shelves so I’m not tempted (thankfully he’s super supportive). I also have two teenage boys with big appetites - so I need to keep a lot of food at home and many snacks I don’t want to eat. But my mindset is firm that I don’t need those foods (most days I’m good and don’t even take a bite of those Cheezits!). I’ve had some serious back issues in my 30’s dealing with arthritis from scoliosis. The extra weight is brutal on my back and joints so it helps keep me on track. Pain is powerful and I work daily to have it work for me and not against me. A friend just asked me if I’m a glass half full kind of person. I am! But that has not come easy or naturally. It’s been wonderful to lean on this group for support. I want to thank you all again for showing up here! It’s been so encouraging to see so many striving to feel better! This has helped me improve on my food choices when I’m out at work or in social settings.

I’d love to hear from you all! How has the 2B Mindset changed your relationship with yourself? With food? Do you have a good support system with the people around you?

Went out to eat and asked for double veggies in place of a side of mashed potatoes and felt good about it.
It feels easier to prioritize myself and eat differently than the people I'm dining with. Before, I would not have asked for the change and ate it to be normal. Victory for me.

I think I’ve grown to think more and more of food as fuel to help me feel good and keep my immune system up. I don’t have anyone doing the program with me but my husband for sure supports me.
