  • Let’s Crush It Wednesday!⚡

I’m a firm believer that the right playlist is a total game-changer for your workout. Listening to tunes you love floods your brain with serotonin—the ultimate "feel-good" hormone—instantly spiking your mood and supercharging your energy!
Music doesn't just help you push harder and last longer; it actually locks in your motor skills and movement coordination. When your body syncs to the beat, your confidence skyrockets, creating an absolute addiction to breaking a sweat! 🔥

Who else fuels their workouts with music? Tell me what you're listening to so we can build the ultimate workout playlist!

  • Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was filled with late summer vibes!

As we roll into week three, let’s talk about habits. Well, more specifically, the unhealthy ones. A couple that come to mind are:

Distracted eating –Who is guilty of sitting at your desk during lunch or catching up with social media during dinner? Focus on the meal, enjoy it and notice when you're starting to feel full.

Choosing foods because they “sound healthy” – Avoid being duped by a healthy-sounding label claim. Some of the healthiest foods at the grocery store don't have any packaging or branding—like fruits and vegetables.

We all have things we could change. For one week...only 7 days…what unhealthy habit are you willing to give up? Who knows...this may lead to you giving up that unhealthy habit for good. You just might like the results you see!

  • It's Friday - Don't forget to be awesome!

Which description fits you best: Mindless Grazing or Smart Snacking?

Snacking often gets a bad rap when it comes to working toward a healthy weight loss, but in reality, snacking is a perfectly healthy habit, provided you’re making thoughtful choices as to which foods you’re nibbling on.

Think of a healthy snack as a mini meal (be mindful of portions!) A healthy snack has some protein, carbs, and healthy fats. Bonus points for fiber, as that helps fill you up and slows digestion, leaving you feeling fuller longer and keeps you out of that hangry zone!

A couple of my favorite snacks are frozen banana “ice cream” and celery stalks with sunflower butter. YUM!
Remember, the more fruits and veggies you can sneak into your snacks, the better!

Which snacks are you going to incorporate into your weekend?

Jennifer B. - hard-boiled is my favorite way to eat eggs! Soooo...is it fun or work (or both!) to have the chickens and ducks??

Jennifer B.

Haha, I’d say fun. They just blend in and become part of the daily routine of feeding and collecting eggs.

  • HAPPY WORKOUT WEDNESDAY!

Turn exercise from a “I have to” to a “I want to!”

You might not realize it, but the way we exercise is becoming more like playing a game. An Apple Watch rewards you with badges for hitting milestones. Peloton ranks you among others, encouraging competition. Pokemon Go is the fitness app you never knew you needed.

No matter how you choose to gamify your workouts, the goal is: Fun workouts. Lasting routines.

In what ways are you making your routine exciting?

I asked a friend to come run with me twice a week. We keep each other accountable and motivated. Today I sure was pooped and would have rather sat on the couch but we went for the run anyway. So glad I got out even though it was a little slower.

most things are so much easier (and fun!) when you have the external encouragement!

Let’s talk PROTEIN. Protein is an essential nutrient that helps build and keep your body healthy, including your muscles, skin, and bones. Plus, it’s a major factor in your diet when you’re trying to reach or stay at a healthy weight.
    • High-protein diets keep you feeling full longer, which helps curb cravings and reduce hunger
    • Your body burns more calories just digesting protein compared to carbs or fat, so eating more protein can fire up your metabolism and help you burn more energy every day
    • Because most high-protein foods taste great, increasing your intake is simple, delicious, and satisfying

So, yeah, let’s talk protein! Whether you prefer animal-based or plant-based sources, I’d love to hear how you reach your daily goals. Do you rely on convenient options like protein bars and powders, or do you stick to whole foods? Have you noticed a difference in how full you feel throughout the day? Drop your favorite protein-packed tips and recipes below so we can inspire each other!

I think the best advice I received was the nutritionist telling me that everybody should get 30g of protein within an hour of waking up. I’ve been having an ensure max protein or fairies 30g protein premixes first thing in the morning and it definitely helps keeping me feel full and not snacky. I’m down 20 lbs in 5 weeks and still working hard to keep the momentum

I'm glad we talked! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas!

Wondering what everyone's main workout routine is if they have any? I am trying my hardest to do four days a week (two lower body + core, two upper body) but decided that I would not do less than 3 days a week at the gym. Also started drinking 3L of water daily and keeping my habit of waking up between 4 to 5 am is helping me curb cravings throughout the day.

My struggle is and always have been regularity and consistency. My preferred time of workout is early morning, before getting my day started, so I have been re-establishing my routine for a month now.

I like running, so RN I am running 3 time a week, and, 2 times a week, a shorter walk with a quick callistenic strenght workout at home. During the weekend, I walk with my dog in the morning (he won't follow me during the week, too scared that I make him run XD).

Adding a zumba class for fun in September with a friend.

With school starting again this week, my goal is to keep up waking up at 4:30AM to move, even if the plan is not following perfectly if I don't feel like it, no matter what life brings me.

you guys are doing great! Be proud of your efforts! It all adds up!

Went to boxing class this morning. My son comes with me and has a class right after. There is nothing like it for all around fitness and it helps with stress and mental health too. For all the mums (and dads) out there, modeling good, healthy habits for our kids is one of the most important jobs we have as a parent ??♥

You got that right! Although he's very active now, I wish I had instilled this in my son when he was younger!

Good morning, I’m in Australia - when do I need to submit my weekly weigh-in?
View 1 more comment

Sherihan

I was prompted to do so by the app. Think the same will happen to you. Good luck

DietBet Lynette C.

Hi Natalee- Great question and you've received some great answers! Members can submit one progress weigh-in each week (you choose which day!). Keep in mind that Progress weigh-ins do not automatically apply as a Final weigh-in, so it's important to double-check the type of weigh-in you're submitting when official game weigh-ins are due. :)
