Got my workout in! Going to be pretty silent until Sunday—we’re headed out of state to visit with the in-laws so kiddo can hang with grandpa before school starts. I’m going to do my best, track what I eat, focus on water first and veggies most. Have a great end of week, friends!

Have fun!

Walked around the amusement park yesterday to the tune of 18k steps! And today we walked around the train museum and managed to get in a workout..10k steps so far!

Day three—at least in my head—of really working at this. I usually do intermittent fasting, but this morning I wanted a breakfast taco loaded with mushrooms, eggs, onions, and peppers. I had one and gave the rest to my son. Normally, I’d eat two for no real reason, but I’m breaking the habit of doubling all my “good ideas.”

The scale showed good news today. I know it’s technically only day two, but I’ll take positive reinforcement wherever I can get it. Yesterday I also had breakfast tacos for dinner, then went on a 30-minute bike ride to burn off the sugar and keep it from turning straight into fat—great strategy.

Thanks for all the pictures and ideas. Keep them coming.

I know what u mean about having double portion for no apparent reason. Thats me:joy:Hoping to be able to stop this bad habit

It’s hard when you really enjoy what you’re eating, not to want to just keep eating it.

Today I packed a lunch. My biggest problem with food is eating out too much.

Great job! I struggle with this sometimes as well. Even after filling my fridge with good options it’s just so easy to get takeout or fast food or something.

  • Still on a downward trend! Leaving tomorrow to visit family, so I’m hopeful that I can find a way to stay on my nutrition while visiting. We’ll see since we’ll be out and about on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Not a lot of healthy options at theme parks and ren fair but I’ll do what I can! For now, I’m on a roll! Got in my workout and am ready for the day! Gotta get my step and water goal!

It will be hard to not be a part of the eating fun on vacation, but it’s worth it!

  • Happy Hump Day, everyone!

Let's talk about two crucial things for a successful week: water and smart snacking.

First, hydration. A great way to stay on track is to always have a water bottle with you. You can make it fun by adding sliced fruit or herbs.

Fun Fact: Did you know that the average person will drink enough water in their lifetime to fill a small swimming pool? So keep sipping!

Next, let's talk about "snack-tivities." Instead of just sitting and munching, pair your snack with a small activity. For example, eat some carrot sticks while you do a few stretches, or have a handful of almonds while you clean up a small part of your house. It keeps your mind and body active!

If you could magically turn one food into a non-caloric food (without changing the taste), what would it be?

Calorie free food - either ice cream or pizza!

John C.

My food would have to be pizza or steak.

This will be fun. Here my 5 point action plan to win
1. Drink water like it’s my day job
2. 8 hours sleep
3. Portion control and no sweets
4. 30 min daily exercise
5. sever a limb if needed 😂
Who’s with me? 😝

Sigh, just need to commiserate with someone. I've lost 35 pounds over the last few months. Hard-earned, and I have lost inches and look better (being tall hides things). I decided to check a waist measurement today, expecting to see 32-33 inches. Ya all, it was 37! Still an unhealthy number. When I had my head in the sand, ignoring just how much I had gained, that waist measurement must have reached the 40s. No wonder I'm still fighting hypertension. That was a wake-up call, and I am now even more motivated to work hard to get my waist measurement back into healthy numbers. Still, a bit depressing to realize how much more I need to do. Back a million years ago, I was the skinny one, the one who never gained weight. This is just revolting. Sigh. Ok, just needed to share, I don't have anyone in real life on this journey with me.

I was also the tall skinny girl for most of my life. Age and having two kids completely changed me. I’m coming up on 63 and struggling so much. I’m easily 40 pounds heavier than I was. Losing this weight is hard. Anyone else feel very tempted to use one of the weight loss drugs? Seeing the ads all the time drives me crazy. And I’m not implying they are a bad option or shaming anyone using them. Just wondering how others feel about them.

Lori M.

I follow a couple of people on IG who have gone on incredible weight-loss journeys, including the use of medical interventions. I can definitely say, having seen their transformations, that it was still a lot of hard work! One of them recently posted a picture from the beach on vacation with her family and said it was the very first time she’s ever NOT felt like she needs to lose weight. That was really impactful. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced that. I’ve always been fairly curvy, but even at a healthy weight I always thought I looked terrible. Now I WISH I looked like I did back when I thought I was so huge! I have considered the options, but am a bit anxious. In the meantime I’m doing my best to commit to making the changes I can, even one small change at a time.

Ok all. Let me know what your tips or tricks are to overcome the urge to overeat. I can easily meet my fiber and protein goals, and I’ve got the exercise routine down pat.

I actually invested in HUM fiber+ and drink it in the morning. It has been helping me. Also, eating huge portions of veggies and always starting dinner with a side salad helps! Then drinking hot herbal tea instead id dessert. Or chewing sweet sugar free gum (I love orbits bubblemint!). Hang in there! You can do it!

Lori M.

Came here for the tips! Overeating is probably my hardest hurdle to overcome as well.

  • Hi everyone! My name is Morgan and this is my first DietBet. I started at 300lbs and I’m down to 180. I’ve hit a plateau and decided to put some money on the line to motivate myself lol
My calorie goal is about 1400/day with 95g protein and I go to the gym 4-5 days a week
