I've almost reached my "peak weight" again after watching myself lose 50lbs back in 2013. I know I will feel better if I can get the weight off again, and because I did it before, I know I can do it again... even if I am almost 6 years older by now!

Well, after last months success what was originally 2 cheat day turned into 4 cheat days and I gained a few pounds back I have to make up and then some for thins month. The craving to have another cheat day is real; but I’m sticking to my plan for lunch today to hopefully get back on track! I’m not sure why it’s so tough to “eat healthy” but it sure is, for me at least!

Here's the thing, brother. You're going to have those cheat days. When those days come, how about you cheat on the cheat days? Don't eat the whole meal—cut it in half. Then, for the next cheat day, cut it in half again until you're not cheating on yourself anymore.

See, using the word "cheat" is such a bad way to look at it. You're addicted to sugar, and sugar will cause you to think things that it's not. You have to wean your body off of it, slowly but surely. That means you have to watch everything you eat.

Try to just put more meat inside of you. Carbohydrates—our body doesn’t really need them. And when those cheat days come, smell it first. Ask yourself, "Does this serve my being?"

I guarantee those cheat days will stop coming.

I felt this comment to my soul! I have also gained a few back since our 1st weigh in, some just slacking off, some has to do with a ton of family stress I'm experiencing right now. So I'm falling into bad habits of eating through my feelings. But now I can at least recognize what I'm doing and try to derail the bad and put myself back onto the right path before I fall down the rabbit hole completely, head first!

I won my first 3 kickstarters so I was a few pounds ahead of this goal… celebrated with food a bit too much but still squeaked by this morning! Still not going to eat until it’s verified just in case, it was too close!

As of Sunday morning I had made my weight, just need to finish strong for weigh-in. I’m finding myself really craving the “bar food” that would have been typical for me to eat every day before starting these challenges. I’ve allowed myself some small indulgences here and there but overall doing good!

I’ve been eating at home way more. So I’ve lost weight and I’ve spent about 50% on food/dining/groceries when compared to January 24, double win!

That’s great. I’ve been craving pizza.

Katherine

That's definitely a win-win! Saving yourself unnecessary calories and saving money! Good job.

  • This bag is seriously delicious, seasoned perfectly. I’m trying to cook at home more, for 1. Work is busy I don’t currently have time to make everything from scratch. I can pop this in the air fryer for 10 minutes and they turn out perfectly. Today I had this as a side with chicken breast and mushrooms cooked in the wok. Was delicious. As of this morning I have about 2 lbs left to meet this months goal (and 5lbs in the 4 week ones) and I’m determined to hit the end of month goal!

I had reached round one goal and then I went to Costco with a friend who didn't have a card, I didn't buy anything but on the way out the food court was calling and it was dinner time. I had prepped a tuna salad at home but preferred the chicken strip and fries. Was 1400 calories you guys for that one meal!! Argh why do we do this to ourselves 😅

Hello everyone,

as past times showed, I was more successful when being active on here - so here I go:
I haven‘t won a lot if dietbets these past years…but another year, another motivational push towards a healthier life!
I got a yoga teacher‘s license last year, which was a great opportunity to incorporate more movement into my life (and a lot of balancing pose-goals).
When joining this dietbet I started a pilates challenge which I have been following about 80% up to this point :D That‘s pretty good for me…

I just googled a poledance studio close to me, but I feel a little conscious about starting a beginner class. I will do another 30-day challenge to build some strength in my arms and see where to go from there.

Nutrition-wise I am trying to cut my intake of treats and sweets. I don‘t know if anyone knows ‚Marzipan‘ (I‘m from Germany) - it‘s a lot of sugar and fat and I could eat a ton of it 🙈

I have a lot of plans, let‘s see which ones I will stick to…

I look forward to see and read more about your ambitions and progress. Let‘s cheer each other on these next six months!

…and excuse any weird English🙈

See you around❤

Thank you so much for your advice!

I‘ll look into the beginner classes and see if I can find something for next week!
I‘ll keep you updated :)

5 days later, how are you doing? On track? We’re almost there! Few lbs left for me, but motivated to make it!

Does anyone use VR to work out? I’m looking for ideas! I have body combat but haven’t really started yet… definitely need to start moving!

Pamela J.

Ohhhh I should look into this. My son has a VR thingie lol

Danielle W.

I do! It’s my main source of working out! Beat saber! There are certain songs that are great for working out. I’ve made a playlist for that. Supernatural is a workout app that’s amazing. Thrill of the fight is a boxing app that gives you a great workout. Fitxr is a workout app that incorporates a lot of different styles of workouts. There is a whole section on the shop for apps that’s geared towards fitness. I have the quest 3s.

Just submitted my weekly weigh in; down 7lbs so far. Good start. Mostly just switched form eating out every single meal to eating at home most meals, and trying not to eat after 7-8pm. Planning to add in daily walks, and I think next week will start some gym exercises.
