  • Thanks to those who gave some encouragement the other day. I pulled myself up by my bootstraps and barely made my Kickstarter, but that means as long as I don't slack and go backwards I've already made my goal for this transformer. I have an aversion to tracking calories, and portion control, and so the lifestyle that fits me best is Intermittent fasting where I can eat as much as I want in my eating window, and when I'm truly hungry for my eating times I eat good quality and quantity then I'm done. I think I'm back on track with that now, my greatest weakness is wanting to snack at night!! So I just have to "delay don't deny" my way through it, and offer it to myself the next eating window... When I don't usually want it anymore because a good healthy meal just feels so good at that point!
    Any other intermittent fasters here?

I just finished Fast, Feast, Repeat by the same author as Delay, Don’t Deny. I am trying IF but am still in the first 28 days. Crossing my fingers for Feb 1-2!

I am doing intermittent fasting. I also hate counting calories. I usually do a MWF alternate day fast. Great results so far! I do add heavy cream to my morning coffee on fasting days and that actually seems to help. Some fasting days are easier than others still. So I wouldn’t call it easy. I can tell a huge reduction in inflammation and my migraines have gone away. Reading obesity code and watching adf videos on youtube helps keep me motivated.

  • Changed my mind about the mint cocoa hummus, apple instead

I bet mint cocoa would be good on oats. I've been adding different varieties of apples to my diet for fiber. We get a different type every time we go to the grocery store though we are quickly running out of new types to try.

Sunday, Fun Day! Who did something fun that they'd like to share? Perhaps something that encouraged physical activity?

I just got back from a trip to Chicago. That weeks worth of fun earned me a day of rest before the week starts again.

  • Last year at Christmas, I came up with a plan to line all 17 of our neighbors houses (.75 miles) with Christmas lights on the docks. This year I did it and it was a big hit! But pulling them up this weekend took 3 days, not as fun and ended up being an incredible workout! lol

Wow, that's beautiful!!

Can I vent a bit?? And would love feedback... I find these bets frustrating and maybe because of where I am to my goal. I am 6 pounds from my weight loss goal (not the best goal) and the weight is coming off very very slow. I work out consistently, meeting my step bet goals of 10,000 steps 4 days a week and 12,000 2 days a week and go to Jazzercise at least 3 times a week ....have been very intentional with my eating plan yet the scale is very slow.
I'm thinking that these bets are not for those of us down to the end of our weight loss journey, with much less to lose...
Am I the only one struggling to lose that lose few pounds of their overall weight loss journey? If you are there, would love to hear what you are doing. Thanks

Are you under eating? Or maybe not getting enough protein in? In my personal experience, my weight loss happens faster when I make sure to eat enough protein.

Kim

I'm still 30 lbs to goal, but started at over 110+ to lose. First, 6 months were consistent with loss, however the last 2 months have been much harder because I have less to lose and ourbbidies ate extremely efficient at learning even our good routines and adapting to using less. At least 1 or 2 times a month, I will hit a plateau for a week. Im finding that changing something like the one big meal or swapping a different form of exercise for a day or two kick my loss in gear because the body is having to adjust to something different. Just what I've discovered seems to work for me. Good luck! I can't wait to be down to my last few pounds to lose!

First weight check in complete. I have lost 3 lbs this week. I am 74% to the Feb. 1 goal. How is everyone else doing? Any non scale victories? I feel as if I am less bloated this week. It is probably from intaking my water and less zero sugar soft drinks.

Wow! That’s awesome! I’m only down 1.5, but I swear I already have more energy. It’s so encouraging seeing people losing 3+ pounds already!

Amanda E.

I'm finally back down to my pre-holiday weight. I'm feeling a lot less bloated and clothes are fitting better.

Man! Got a new scale with Bluetooth and a cool app. Over a pound heavier on the new one. Guess I have some more work to do 😂

Or use the old scale for weigh ins?

Amanda E.

This is exactly what happened to me. :open_mouth:‍:dash: I would use the old scale if you still have it.

I was just watching some videos on what to do with little weights... ? They're good for smaller more isolated muscles.

Interested in any healthy recipes or ideas that don’t include a lot of vegetables 😂. Some I don’t mind but as a meat, cheese and potato guy, I’m looking for options that are an “improvement” compared to my normal diet fully understanding that salads are better.

I tend to stick with smaller changes better so I’m thinking baby steps here. 😂

Looks great! Did you use rice vinegar or just leave it plain?

ChilledChaos

Onigiri is a type of sushi, I got the mold on Amazon but you can do it by hand as well! You can stuff it with anything you like. My favorite is the sweet chili shrimp or shredded chicken marinated in oranges/soy sauce with chili flakes on top.
