For as awful as having a flu has been, I gotta say that not having any cravings but water has been absolutely astoundingly helpful. It really derailed my "burn from both ends" hope of diet AND exercise, but at least I'm making thoughtful selections about what I eat. Fever laid me out for 2 days and a lingering cough is keeping me from getting my heart rate up much but I should take that as a sign to stretch and be gentle.

Try to always weigh yourself first thing in the morning after peeing and before eating or drinking. That will give you the most consistent results because your weight fluctuates throughout the day.

And I think your instinct to focus on weekly numbers is the right one, because so many factors can affect your weight slightly from day to day.

Hello all. I have been on a fitness journey for the last year following the birth of my 3rd baby. I lost 60 lbs (!) over 9 months but have been in a plateau for the past 3 months or so. I finally started to see the scale move again the first of the year but lost focus and my diet fell off the wagon right before the start of this diet bet. Last week was so tough, struggling with sugar cravings and maintaining consistency with my deficit. Hoping to press the reset button this weekend and really dial it in for the rest of this diet bet. Thankful for this support and encouragement!

I try to eat things like beans, sweet potatoes and fruit throughout the day so I don’t end up craving sweets! The carbs satisfy me, and with a nice balance of leafy greens and protein I’m usually too full to overeat

Sugar cravings are SO real, Lindsey! Make sure you are getting enough protein and drinking plenty of water! When all else fails, try to distract yourself. Maybe start a new hobby, or go for a walk before giving in to your craving.
