Yep @Eli M! I've basically quit UPFs, am much more mindful when I eat, drastically reduced portion sizes, am following the balanced plate (where 1/2 your plate is veg, 1/4 protein and 1/4 carbs). I do think managing food has reduced my weight but the pilates has changed my body shape.

It's the first time I've been overweight rather than obese in 5+ years.

I’m in the same boat! I’ve had to redo them once before because my weigh in word was too close to the scale so I daren’t eat anything until I hear back this time!

    Wishing everyone success this round, I love how mutually supportive this group is!

    So on the subject of finishing this round: I am already preparing myself that I am NOT going to reward myself with food.
    I was thinking maybe taking an evening off and watching a show with hubby, which we rarely have time for anymore.

    Does anyone have ideas or non-food/not expensive things they do to reward themselves?

I had a pedicure after meeting my Jan goal, and have ordered a new electric toothbrush as I've already met my Feb goal. And I'm going out on Fri for a fancy meal as I've managed to get into a beautiful dress I bought in Oct 2023 that has never been worn!

Wow I love these ideas! Rewarding with other senses (smell, massage or Pedi for touch/relaxation), being super mindful of how rewarding just losing the weight is also sounds wonderful! Maybe I will get myself a journal and start journaling on stuff like that again as a reward!

    To answer a couple questions I've seen lately... Our weigh-in for this round will be February 1 and 2. The weigh-in period begins at midnight pacific time. You can weigh-in anytime during those two days.
    👍 If you've met your goal, weigh-in early to allow plenty of time for approval or to fix your submission if necessary.
    👍 If you're thisclose to meeting your goal, feel free to wait until the 2nd.
    👍 Any official weigh-in you complete in another game, or as a member, that has been approved can be re-used for this game within 48 hours. Start the weigh-in process and select the option to re-use an approved weigh-in, just make sure to keep an eye on the time!

  • What an inspiring group!! Some of you are off to an incredible start!

    Early on I saw some of you ask about your weigh-in goals and / or losing too much weight. The exact breakdowns are in our Make the New Year Magic Transformer FAQs, but I want to put your mind at ease about a few things.

    First, your goals are all set already based off your initial weigh-in. They will not change during this game. If you lose more this month, you're that far ahead for your Round 2 goal. To check your monthly goals click the Round Info button by your Round 1 progress on desktop, and All to the right of the Rounds at the top of the app.

    Second, you would have to be experiencing some very unhealthy weight loss to be disqualified during a round. Unless you experience an illness, in which case you can reach out to support@dietbet.com, losing 12% of your starting weight during one round is unlikely. See the breakdown for each round here.

    Third, there is a difference between our prizes for this game (awarded monthly to anyone active in this game, regardless of weigh-ins or membership) and Weekly Membership Prizes (awarded weekly to Members who have completed the weekly progress weigh-in by Wednesday of each week). Find more information here.

Great job, everyone!!!

Steven, if you miss one of the Rounds, you just forfeit the winning for that Round (half of each monthly bet goes towards the Round winnings and half goes toward the overall winnings). Therefore, you can miss a round or two and still come out on top!

One thing to make sure of is that you don't miss the required Round 5 weigh-in. Everyone is required to have lost at least 6% at that point to continue so there are no unhealthy sprints to the finish.

I’m adding light activity. My doctors told me I really just need to focus on my diet. Weightloss is like 80% diet so it’s my main focus but I do need to work more on strengthening my body. What are some beginner exercises or YouTube channels etc to follow

There's an app that's free and has some beginner 10-15 minute workouts. It's Transform HQ, they sell protein and other supplements, but I like their workouts for the beginner or light workouts.

Yep, getting your diet in order is top priority. Maybe getting out in the sunshine for a stroll once a day, then slowly working up more time and distance, but diet is key.
