  • Something ChatGPT helped me with, instead of having to weigh and measure food, we can just use our hand as a guide! Game changer! :)

Oh nice! One thing I heard about was using chatgbt to help with meal planning. You can even tell it what kind of meals you want or what macros you want i think.

Megan K.

That’s really cool! I’ll definitely try that! And I’m thinking it would be great to ask ChatGPT what meals I can make with ingredients I have on hand. :)

How did you do today? What went well?

I meditated this morning, hit the gym before work, meal prepped some veggies for today and tomorrow, went on a 30 min lunch walk, drank my 3 bottles of water, and stuck to the meals I planned for today. Feeling pretty proud of myself. Hoping to get to bed at a reasonable time so I can do another gym day tomorrow morning. 💪💪

Good work! I defrosted some salmon and cooked it, cleaned out the fridge, and made 4 cups of brown rice to freeze in 1 cup portions.

While I love my weigh in... i know it's water weight. I have my meal plan for the week and will be shopping tonight for delivery tomorrow morning. I used to despise meal planning, but it's been helping a lot.

  • Happy Monday! Welcome everyone! It's day 1 and we are here to crush our goals! If you haven't already, please introduce yourself and let us know how you heard about DietBet and how many games you've played! :)

Now is the time to take a moment to set some personal goals for this game. Once you've determined what your goals are (drink more water, workout goals, practice gratitude, sleep routine, etc), the key to success is having a SOLID PLAN in place and studies show that putting it in writing helps.

Plan your meals - Write down what you're having each day and have the ingredients on hand. Or do some meal prep! This leaves no reason why you have to go out or grab something quick that may not be as healthy.

Plan your workouts - Treat them like work and show up even if you don't want to go. You are the boss and you need to be tough on yourself. You'll always be glad you did!

Track your water intake - Water is essential and we have to drink it! For some of us it comes naturally but for others, it's a chore. Find a way that helps you enjoy it and make it happen!

Track your food - It's easy to forget about those little "grabs" we do when we see snacks on the table. This will keep it real. Whether it's writing it down or just taking photos, the accountability really helps!

Get enough sleep - Getting adequate, quality sleep is an important part of a healthy weight loss plan.

Have fun and relax - Self care is important too!

Is your plan in place? What are some of your goals and what is your plan to make sure you accomplish those goals?

My goals are to meditate every day to help stop the "food noise"/ always thinking about eating, to focus on fiber and protein, and to prep my food for the day the day before or morning of.

Megan K.

I will write out everyday my meal plan for the day. And I will post when I’ve accomplished it.

My second goal is to close all the rings on my Apple Watch every single day this month! :)

  • Anybody else just losing by counting calories?

I lost 20 lbs last year just by making sure my daily calories were at least 500 to 700 below my calories burned on my Fitbit. Was super skeptical that it would work but it did. ❤

Before the holidays, my doctor asked me not to lose weight while I was going through some medical testing and everything is fine but with the holidays and travels that have been ongoing, my weight's creeping up again (about five lbs gained since September) and I don't want it to so getting back to journaling my food each day on Lose It. I expect to to lose at least a few pounds of water weight and then work on about a pound a week, maybe a little more depending on the water weight lost. I think doing a diet bet will help me get back into the habit again.

Anybody else not really dieting but just journaling food and counting calories?

And just a photo of one of my biggest fans.

Counting calories has been my go to. Right now I'm trying to focus on eating more fruits and veggies to help keep me full throughout the day.

Kris

I love that others are not really dieting as well. I have a long history of diets and since I'm still doing this, I finally figured out by it just don't doesnt work for me. I am having a lot more success just journaling my food. I look forward to seeing how we all do.
