I won’t be playing diet bet again. They keep 25%?!? So the winners only won $11 (above their buy-in). What a joke.

It’s a great business idea. Zero overhead, rake in the cash. It’s brilliant! You’re right, I didn’t read, I didn’t really care, it was more about the journey. But now that I’m informed, I’ll be passing. Cheers!

Casino always wins. You know of any other outlets that let you gamble on your own weight loss

Hi Audrey,
So if 559 people played and 329 people won and there was a $500 bonus thrown in, then $9700 was in the winning pot to split. I won $12 above my buy in. Why aren’t the winnings closer $30?
Thanks,
Jessie

I read on Reddit that they do this. I appreciate the motivation but mine was more about me not losing my $45 once I realized how little you get for a win. They even have YouTube videos discussing it.

This is also disclosed in the FAQ, https://www.dietbet.com/faq. DietBet keeps between 10-25% of the pot based on the bet amount to help cover our expenses, like paying the Customer Service team, the development team, credit card fees, prizes, etc.

Looks like there were a total of 559 players and 328 winners (58.7%) that will split the pot. Assuming Dietbet takes 25%, that would mean winners should see a potential payout of $51.12. No doubt I have some of the numbers off but curious how close the actual number is...

Early success, but now I am just hungry. This water is helping enough. Motivate me, trash talk, whatever!

Track your macros on my fitness pal app. Eat 0.6g of protein per pound (your weight * 0.6). You have to figure out a way for this to be a lifestyle change or stick & you deserve it. You’ll get there, trust the process.

Josh

Great advice. Any tracking will right the ship!! I will start after my work retreat tomorrow.:)

What kind of dietary changes are you all making? I’m trying to adopt a wfpb lifestyle and it’s been quite challenging.

I'm using the Lose it app to count everything I eat.
. I'm amazed at how much less cheddar cheese I actually am content with as opposed to what I was eating!
I have been having calories left at the end of the day and I don't know what else to eat!

I also trying to eat more wfpb. Meal prepping helps me the most, as well as not waiting until I am super hungry to eat. I am very much an emotional eater, so having everything ready to go helps me avoid the emotional in the moment decisions.

  • Good morning and Happy Friday!

This weekend is going to be super busy for me, we have family coming to town and it’s always a good time but it’s hard to stay on track and to take a few minutes for me. My goal this weekend is to not overdo it, I’m a fan of everything in moderation, and to get at least a 30 minute walk in both days.

What does your weekend look like and what are your goals?

Getting in enough protein is a challenge for me, so I love this goal!

Plan ahead. If I plan what I'm going to eat ahead of time, I'm pretty good at keeping it.
I leave extra calories available for an unexpected snack that might come my way. :)
