  • Yay! 😅😅
This transformer was a roller coaster. At times the weight came off easily but by the end I was analyzing every piece of food that went into my mouth to get those last couple pounds off. I came in a little less than 1 pound under the goal weight. 💪💪 😅?
I’m now in the “normal” range for BMI, am in less physical pain and things just generally feel easier all around. Now I can ignore the scale and work on building up as much muscle as is possible in your mid-40s ????
    Good luck everyone!

The last few days I was having a lot of turkey breast , egg whites and some cottage cheese. Celery and sweet potato soup ( not too much sweet potato) is good as it’s filling but the celery has diuretic properties. If you’ve decided to have hardly anything to eat then just celery can be helpful to nibble on .

I ended up having some mixed vegetables for lunch and a protein shake for dinner. Reeeeallly hoping I make it in the morning asap!!

.1 pound under for this round 😅. Like a lot of others this was a tough round. I’ve had bronchitis for 6 weeks. My 6 year old broke her arm and then my MIL was so sick with stomach flu while at our house that we needed a paramedic to come to rehydrate her. Then my 6 year old got the stomach flu too. It’s been depressing but I didn’t eat my feelings and I’m proud of that. (And luckily knock on all the woods I didn’t get the stomach bug myself). I haven’t exercised at all since I got sick 6 weeks ago but I’m determined to get back on the horse. I don’t just want to be thin I want to be strong and healthy. Good luck everyone! Onwards and upwards!!

  • This morning's walking buddies...

I'm sick with some sort of upper respiratory thing. And so working out the last two days hasn't really been on the docket. I don't think I'm up for HIIT workouts. But I'm still trying to get my steps in and was able to get an 8,000 yesterday which is my goal to get at least that. So feeling accomplished.

Wow! Amazing views on your walk. Thanks for sharing.

I feel for you and the upper respiratory thing! It took me at least 2 weeks post antibiotic to get to the point where a mild peloton ride didn't trigger awful coughing for the next couple of hours. Good call on sticking to slower movement - and how awesome that you captured a baby!! I've never seen one before!

Ugh… I’m returning—with 75 pounds more than when I won my game a year and a half ago. In the last few years, I’ve had a large number of life stressors, but the #1 contributor towards my weight gain was a job change—from a physically active job where I worked 12 hour shifts three days a week to a 5 day a week desk job. I gained about 7-8 lbs a month the first ten months on the job. Another factor is that when I worked three days a week, I also regularly went to the gym on my days off. Now I have half as many days off per week, and the nearest gym is over 20 miles from where I live.

I’m insanely sedentary. I need to find ways to fit activity in with 9 hours a day at a desk and kids to taxi around in the evenings and weekends. If you have any suggestions for small workouts to squeeze in throughout the day or exercises that work on strength and flexibility with minimal equipment, I’m all ears.

I can totally relate to this! Before the pandemic I was a teacher in a classroom but I started my own online business in 2020 and that (combined with a hip injury that had me not walking for months in 2021) has led me to become very sedentary. I'm excited because I start a new part-time lecturing job today, so will be able to be on my feet two days a week teaching but, yes, for the other three I will still struggle. I did get a walk pad before to put under my desk which was great, but I've moved and live with other people now so it's not possible to use it in the office. However, we do have a treadmill downstairs and I try to wake up 30 mins earlier and just get in a 30 minute walk (where I am it's very cold - otherwise you could do this outside!) while listening to a podcast to start the day off well. When I get in steps early it motivates me to push harder throughout the day. E.g. Every 30 minutes taking a 3-minute break to walk up and down the stairs. Good luck and let's keep sharing tips and we're in the same boat!

There are apps like stepbet with daily step goals. And I am not a morning person but I used to do online workouts at night, think YouTube workouts, anything from recorded Zumba classes to weight lifting.
Let's get back to that together!

  • Had a great start to the new year with a 5k on the beach! Hopefully this helps my mindset for this. I don't know why I ended the year so off track but I'm back to it and ready!
