Well, after getting within 4 lbs of goal over the weekend and staying on track, my body decided to….gain. it’s fine. I regained my focus and I did lose 6 with this DietBet. I’ll see all of you in February for the next one! Congrats to all who made it!

Happy weigh in day everyone!!! I know it’s late in the day but I had such a long day of work and on top of that Vince and I are knee deep in trying to buy our first home. The stress has been unreal. Open to all positive vibes and prayers even some advice!!

Good news is ya girl won her game right along side all of you.

I’m so of myself. Honestly I remember back during the holiday season of 2023 I had gotten back up to 263 lbs. I had finally broke down and weighed myself, I literally cried. This sounds so dramatic as I type it out but it’s so freaking real. I had worked so hard for so many years and I ended right back where I started, or at least almost. This is a life long battle but we can’t give up. I will never give up on myself or my health. I can not allow food to control my life or emotions. I have a lot of personal work to do on myself but atleast I’m seeing results and feeling better. I hope you all are as well.

Been out of town for a wedding…. It has slowed my progress. Not to mention my perimenopause rearing its head. My monthly decided to show up on Dec 31 and has not quit and it decided to double down on me this week with extra symptoms and won’t stop…. This has really slowed me down. I only lost one pound this week. Anyway I go see my dr on Thursday. Hopefully I can at least still keep losing even if it’s slow!!!

Omg, I can relate, too! I just turned 55 in Nov, and the whole menopause thing is nooo joke!! As time passes, so do the symptoms. Regina, hang in there! It's great that you're going to see your dr soon. There are lots of options for relief.

Figgy, I know what you mean. Portion control has been my problem for a very long time. I keep telling myself to try to just enjoy a bite of something so I'm not completely depriving myself of it, but I've been scared to do it yet. Congrats to you! That's such a huge victory! :muscle:

Actually, what I should say is that as time passes, my menopausal symptoms have evolved and changed, so having a good Gyno definitely helps. Weight gain and trying to lose it is a part of the process, for sure. Working towards getting my hormones more in balance with the help of a good gynecologist seems to help with weight loss. Idk, my body just seems more responsive to my efforts of a calorie deficit and exercise.

  • The first 6 days have gone well-
    Diet -tracked all the food, did eat out but made good choices, have been leaving food on my plate which is huge for me (childhood learned behaviors are hard to break)
    Meal planning- this is one area I need to improve in as well as upping my protein
    Water- getting over 100 oz a day, will be increasing to 120 oz slowly
    Exercise- have been walking & getting to the beach for that most days, as I set an intention this year to get to the beach more as it’s a major stress reducer for me.Today I did a slower beach walk, and did a 30 min incline treadmill
    I took Sunday as a rest day, because I donated platelets & wasn’t supposed to do anything strenuous, but did get a walk in which prompted me to change my steps goal
    From 10K a day to 70k a week.
    I’m so glad I joined this DB- I needed the accountability/motivation.
    Y’all are probably going to get tired of seeing my name in comments & posts. Being engaged here daily helps me stay motivated & pushes me to keep going.

  • My first week went great (besides being sick) I’ve lost 71 lbs over the past 2 years I gained about 90 after COVID
    It’s been slow but consistent loss. The scale doest move often. Sometimes for over a month. Then BOOM 3-4 lbs will come off. It’s like my body needs to make sure we’re still doing this before it releases any weight 😅
    Anyway, this week was one of those “boom” weeks and I finally came off a month plateau
