I have NOT been as diligent as I thought I’d be, and hoped I’d be. I lost my motivation and have been super busy. BUT, I’ve changed some habits and that’s helped me to STILL lose weight (not gain any, woo!) just at a much slower pace than I anticipated. It’s very refreshing to me that I’ve been able to see the scale go down, while feeling too overwhelmed to actively diet/exercise right now. Those little habit changes can do a lot!

literally JUST ended my period, thank gooooodness! I got a little worried as I’ve been snacking more and was in my period all week so have been seeing higher numbers on the scales. I drank water ALL day yesterday and woke up super early to weigh in hoping for the lowest weight. I’m actually 1 pound lower than I was aiming for!

Karen W, aww, yeah that sucks! My family has always told me that we retain so much extra water during our periods. Seems to ring true, as we are typically so bloated during it!

  • NSV for today!

    I was on a FaceTime call with my husband, and I couldn’t help but to notice my neck muscles flexing/popping out, and how thin my face was looking. My skins been looking clearer too! It’s all that water I’ve been drinking, I’m sure!!

    I felt so good! Usually I can’t help but to notice how poor I look in our video calls, especially after a long day with the kids, so this felt sooo good!

  • We walked an hour and a half again today, and spent some time down by the water. This has been wonderful for all of us so far. I intend to do these hour and a half walks every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. And then shorter walks on Tuesday and Thursday. Maybe we will find some new routes to do, too, to keep it interesting!

Yep! We are in south Florida, it was a much nicer day than typical but still super humid.

It's always fun walking with my son. His stories keep us distracted. We also use some of the time to discuss how to behave with other kids when he is called out about something at school.
They don't know better when it's the first time. So we talk about how he would feel if it happened to him and then talk out better scenarios for next time.
I did have to check myself a few times to reframe the walk as a fun time, not a walk that I'd make mile or time goals. They get distracted and slow down a lot. But they have so much fun!

Has anyone done 75 hard? (Or doing it now?)

I decided to jump on it to try and work on my discipline as that’s what REALLY needs to change to make this weight STAY off.

I still haven’t made it past day one, because I can’t drink enough water, but I love that I am continuing to try to reach that goal each day until I can master it and continue on with the other 74 days.

How did you feel after completing the 75 days?!

The exercise portion is a bit extreme for me. As Emily mentioned, there is a medium version and I believe a "soft" version as well. I've also heard of people making it 30 days instead of 75 - sounds less daunting! And you can always keep going once you reach that! Good luck, Kaela! :)

  • Wooo! I’ve found something that I think will really work for me going forward, especially with 75 hard that I’m trying.

    There’s a park nearby that takes me 45 minutes to walk to. The park has equipment for my toddler to play on and equipment for me to work out with.

    Yesterday, I walked 45 minutes there and 45 back. Plus played with my kiddo on the playground and experimented with the equipment. (Pretty sore today!)

    My husband will come this weekend and show me how to use some of the equipment to get the best workout.

    But it’s a wonderful way to get my two 45 minute workouts in for 75 hard, gets my toddler moving and playing, and I’m totally packing a picnic next time!

Love that motivation! My husband and I have been a little hesitant to have our third… and I think if I can lose my weight, we might go for it
