Same as Brian S… this one was tough and now I need to maintain. A bit nervous though… weigh-in has been pending for four hours.

I’m not sure. I thought I would be done after the final weigh in July but now am waffling. I do like the accountability to the game and might need help with maintaining. Lots to think about.

  • Ive lost 50.6 lbs since the first of the year!

    I'm at 190.9.

    Im 1 lb away from being in the 180s!!!! I haven't seen that weight in a long long time.

    Glad I kept all my old tees, including my high-school era (grad 2010). I'll be able to wear my favorite shirt again soon! It's been like 6 or 7 years!!! Unfortunately to fit though, I need to lose about 10 more lbs.

    My face even looks skinnier! (Excuse the bed head i haven't gotten up lol)

    I feel like myself again! I can tie my dang boots in the morning. I can touch the ground flat handed again! I literally went from the last beltloop to the smallest, and need a new belt or punch a hole in it.

My only tip is really dedication to this. I want to eat all the time. And i don't. I've severely cut calories, and that's not necessarily a good thing. When I do eat it's something high in protien. I drink more water than anything else. And I do have a very physical job. To be honest I don't feel to great. My advice is don't do what I'm doing and take it slow.

I was doing the diet thing only until was stuck at last month's weight.

Beef, bacon, eggs, butter, and cheese only

A week ago, I started doing 45 minutes of dumbbells in the morning, and the weight had just started dropping off.

Crusted my goal by 5 lbs.

I’m glad for you that this is helping you meet your weight loss goals. I have a serious question- how do you get the nutrients our body needs from greens, vegetables and fruit? It’s hard for me to think a physician would recommend this type of diet but most are not trained on nutrition like a registered dietitian. This is not meant to be judgmental but I am genuinely curious.

    When you look at remnant meat, you will find it contains all the necessary vitamins, nutrients, and amino acids.

  • Japchae - used erythritol/monk fruit sweetener instead of sugar. Korean recipes use a lot of sugar and trying to modify/cut back to fit my diet. It was definitely less sweet than traditional recipe but still satisfying.

  • I started at over 700 lbs. No surgery. No shortcuts. Just water, willpower, and a deep desire to live. Today, I’m down over 200 lbs and my A1C is 5.4—proof that discipline is medicine. I work out daily in the water, I fast with intention, and I’m showing my daughter that healing is real. One step at a time.
    I enjoy poetry and I love taking pictures of sunsets and sunrises and of the Moon those are the things I live for now.

A year and 6 months the first year I did nothing but fast and broke my addiction to food and then I broke my addiction to sugar. Now I'm in the gym everyday doing 20,000 steps a day and with water aerobics anybody that want to lose weight. What you can't do out here online you can do inside the water

Well, I was doing great and already down past my month 4 goal at weigh in last month but then I found out I'm pregnant! Which is crazy since I'm going to be 45 next month. Definitely wasn't expecting this. So I won't be able to continue on in this bet. Just wanted to say thanks for all the motivation from everyone and the great tips and recipes. I hope you all rock this bet and get to your ultimate goals! I'll be back in Dec or Jan to get back on track!

  • I've been doing dietbets on and off since my 2nd child was born in 2012 (and I have 4 kids.) This will be my last dietbet, as it's finally truly become a lifestyle change for me and I'm now in the process of getting skin removal surgeries. This bet was one final push to get a bit leaner before surgery. The first photo was Jan 2017 after my 4th child was born, and the second photo was last month, 87 lbs pounds between them.

    My biggest piece of advice is that weight loss is not a one and done, it's a lifelong commitment to better health and feeling better about yourself. If a diet is temporary, sure you'll lose weight, but if you go back to eating like "normal" after your diet, your body will go right back as well. The key is in creating a new normal that will sustain your new body. Find healthier alternatives to your favorite foods, make yourself eat healthy foods until your tastebuds change and you actually enjoy eating healthy, allow treats for special occasions but realize that not every occasion is special, figure out how to fit movement into your everyday schedule, lift heavy things a few times a week, and always speak to yourself with a loving growth mentality.
