  • Wooo man, what a week! As I’ve said forever it seems, you can be stubborn in your goals, but stay flexible in your methods. Between kids out of school most of the week with all the lovely cold and ice, our youngest getting a pretty severe concussion Friday at recess (he’s good now and recovering), our oldest having a soccer tourney today with a windchill of 6 degrees, then getting tangled up with another player and hitting her head on the turf which prompted another ER visit and another concussion (very mild)…basically how I planned to end this week and game didn’t go anything like I planned.

    First and most importantly, I am SO FRIGGIN’ PROUD of all of you! Whether you made the 4% goal for this game or not, you still won simply in the fact that you committed to taking four weeks to create healthier habits, both in your fitness and nutrition. Now, I hope you continue those habits moving forward! Remember, this game was about learning which habits and practices are not sustainable in your daily life and which ones you can keep focusing on to keep heading the right direction to your goals.

    I realize I owe y’all another live stream and workout and again am so sorry the way this week ended! If you do have any burning questions that you are still needing answers for, please put them in the comments below so they can get answered!

    Congrats to everyone again and THANK YOU for making me have the most fun job on the planet, in getting to continue helping people find the healthiest and happiest version of themselves!

I know some of you are frustrated with the scale, and rightly so. The reality is that number can fluctuate from day to day based on a number of factors:

1. Hormone fluctuations within your cycle can cause water retention and account for a few pounds on any given day.
2. Hard training sessions and soreness will cause water retention in your muscles.
3. Increased carbohydrate intake causes water retention. For every gram of carbs ingested, the body will temporarily hold up to 3 grams of water.
4. Lack of sleep and stress will increase cortisol levels which can stall weight loss or cause weight gain.
5. Increased sodium intake will cause water retention.
6. Weight will be highest at the end of the day after consuming meals.
7. Gaining muscle and losing fat will look like no progress on the scale, even though you’ve made great improvements to your body composition.

As you can see, scale fluctuation doesn’t necessarily mean you're not making progress. While the scale can give you an idea of progress over time, please remember in the long-run to take pictures, measurements, and gauge how differently your clothes fit. Because even if you don’t meet the 4% body weight loss goal of this game, you still will have plenty to celebrate with those non-scale victories!💪?

I'm not going to hit the 4% and I'm okay with it. I was sick and took a break. I'm going to keep pushing forward with Megan's workouts. I hit 6 PR's this week and that's worth it to me!

  • Doing LIIFT4 and 10 Rounds (on LIIFT4 off day). Started at the beginning of 10 Rounds to get comfortable/familiar with how this program rolls. Tried to jump right in and was frustrated. Here’s to moving forward.

  • LIIFT4-now I remember these workouts and hating Joel 😉 thank god stretching was on the floor so I wouldn’t have to use my arms. Holding the phone for this photo was hard ? Felt great though!

Just did Day 1! HELLO LEGS! Anyone have any suggestions on how to do the workouts for LIIFT MORE that require the adjustable bench? I have a bench for my dining table, but it’s not adjustable. Can’t drop $$ for one right now either.
