I feel like I have been so disconnected from the game. I was really disappointed when I joined because the scale was up and down so much that I couldn't really tell how I was doing despite tracking macros...I'm considering talking to my Dr about HRT or something ? I am turning 47 in September so maybe peri is playing a role...no clue. Weight does seem to be going in the right direction now...but for how long? I refuse to give up and just keep on fighting to be healthy and confident ❤ and to be able to keep up with my first grandbaby coming in Oct 🍼.
I wish you all the best ❤

If you keep showing up and doing the work, the results will come! Stick with it! I’m dealing with perimenopause symptoms myself and I definitely struggle to find the energy sometimes. We can do it!

Today was not a good day to eat fast food but the emotional week got me today=/ hope it doesnt ruin the scales too bad!!!!

One meal won’t ruin anything, it’s hard to be “perfect” all the time. Keep moving and get back on track asap and everything will be great!

  • Dinner tonight is airfryer blackened salmon & baked sweet potato with light butter + cinnamon. I love salmon in my airfryer because it's so simple on a busy night (375 for 13 mins in ours) and we just add blackened seasoning we get from Kroger. When it comes to weightloss I've learned the way you prepare your food can really make or break your goals. I used to only eat fried fish with tons of tarter sauce, also fries as the side, but learned to try new things! What're you having?

That looks delicious! Funnily enough I cooked tuna and olives in my air fryer to add to a fresh caesar salad for dinner last night. I ate half of it inside an ole wellness wrap for some extra fiber!

Lexi

I love those wraps! yum!

Spent the last 3 days at the gym and thinking to do rest day tomorrow, but just can’t stop. Addicted to self improvement. How many times a week are you at the gym?

I try to take one FULL rest day (walking only). I personally do HIIT/Cycling for cardio 3-5 days per week, after my heavy weight training sessions. Building muscle while losing fat isn’t the best for the scale with these competitions but, there is NOTHING like feeling strong!

it’s so fun to ride the motivation high, right?! :muscle:?
I’ve been trying to do 4 hiit classes at the gym a week, plus 6 days home workouts at home, I alternate dumbbell workouts and Pilates. Dumbbell workouts are Caroline girvan videos on YouTube, and I got my hands on the classic Winsor Pilates dvds (I used to have the vhs in 2002 ?) so grateful for fb marketplace. My approach is i choose which home workout I do based on/after the hiit classes since I don’t know in advance what muscle group the focus will be. It’s my strategy to maximize workouts and account for recovery.

Has anyone experienced going to bed with a certain weight, and waking up 3lbs heavier?

Yes of course ! Water retention, lack of sleep

If you've been working out hard, you also might have lactic acid built up. Give yourself a recovery day and it'll go down.

  • Went to Olive Garden the other day and got a salad to go plain with our leftovers. Today I added rotisserie chicken and it was delicious! We always request our salad without the dressing and then dip into our dressings for way less calories! Small changes add up and this hit the spot! What's your hack for eating out or cutting calories?

I eat burgers with no bun, and get a side salad instead of fries. My husband will usually get a side salad too so I am not tempted with fries or tots
