My biggest takeaway is you don’t have to be perfect but if you follow plate it almost all the time the occasional eat out is a treat and get back at it - consistency is key - feel so less stressed about food

Well, I made it when it didn't look possible because of my inability to exercise right now. I decided to fast starting after lunch Sunday until this morning. That took the pressure off

Woohoo photos have been submitted. I always weigh in first thing in the morning so I was nervous going on the scale in the evening but it was the only chance I had for my partner to take a full body photo for me. Was 169 this morning, sitting at 171.4 tonight. Passing my goal of 174 from 181.2
This was my first diet bet and such a fun & motivational experience. Glad to have shed that Christmas cookie weight.
Off to the spa on Wednesday to celebrate 🎉

  • Weighed in earlier, but having a salad for breakfast just in case. I made it with butterleaf lettuce, acorn squash seasoned with nutmeg and coriander, orange slices, blueberries, hemp seeds, roasted pecans, cottage cheese, and lemon poppyseed dressing… pretty yummy!

I'm glad we have another day to weigh in. I'm close and I'm watching my diet but can't exercise right now. Usually when I'm this close I can do a workout and then weigh but that can't happen today. Really frustrated because I've been working so hard. A back injury 3 weeks ago has kept me from my regular exercise routine. I had PT on Friday where they did a deep tissue massage on my leg/ hip joint and now I can barely stand! 😩

Ugh 1 lb away and it won't budge. I just have to keep reminding myself that I still succeed. Just sucks . Every time I have done one of these I seam to never lose the amount I need to .

In one day you could totally lose that 1 lb. Try drinking water, eat lots of veggies, stick away from salt. Weigh tomorrow. If you’re still 1 lb away, that’s amazing.

I too was hoping for more of a payout from this game, but I took a little time to gain some perspective. I lost my December game by .5 lbs, I won in November and now January. Before this I was losing money every month on WW and NOT weight! I have lost nearly 10% of my body weight in the past 3 months and that was through the holidays too. That’s flipping amazing for me!!! My husband has lost 20 lbs just because he eats what I eat, my whole family is benefiting from me leading by example. If I win an extra $3 or $15 a month (I definitely spent more than that on fast food a month full disclosure) that’s fine. I am getting smaller, stronger and healthier everyday …that makes me feel like a million bucks

This is the way every dietbet I've been part of calculates the winnings:
3,223 (players in this game) x entry fee
3,223 x 40= 128,920
In our case 5,000 extra added= $133,920
Dietbet states they take 10-25%.
Every db I've done 25% is the fee which in our case leaves $100,440.
This is divided by the 2310 winners to get the winnings of $43.48, or a net winnings of 3.48. If you paid the extra $5 for membership that gives you chances to win additional prizes but the fee is not added to the pot. While I think the fee should not have been taken out of the extra 5,000 my calculations show this would have only made a difference of 54 cents.
3223 x 40 = 128,920. Minus 25 % fee leaves 96,690 + 5,000= 101,690
101,690÷ 2310 = 44.02.

I would have liked winning more and that has happened on other dietbets but I'm getting close to my goal weight and these groups have helped. I love the encouragement from others, recipe ideas and other motivation and this group has been great.

@ Alexis J, The 44.02 would have been the case if the 25% fee was not taken out of the bonus 5,000 but apparently it was. That's why we received 43.49.

I’m in my biggest challenge of this diet bet. We are on a 12 day vacation in the Dominican Republic. I brought my scale and I have been working out every day and I’ve been very mindful of the food that I’m eating and the drinks that I am having. I’m praying that I will still weigh in under my goal weight on Sunday. Fingers are crossed! Lol.

Thanks Sharon! I’m giving it my all. I checked my weight this morning and I’m up just a hair but still under the goal weight I was supposed to hit. I believe I will make it especially if we are to weigh in on 2/3-2/4; that two more days! I’ll need to eat even more mindfully!
