I'm so excited to be a part of this with you all. I dont want this to sound like a rant post. Just the struggles I've been having over the last 5 months or so 😞

A little about me. I've been struggling for some time now and have been having a hard time getting motivated again.

I've been off work on sick leave with severe osteoarthritis in the base of both thumbs since June and in that time I've moved from an apartment to a house, packed the entire
apartment myself, and up until a few weeks ago was still unpacking, we merged 2 households and it's been (I honestly have no words to describe how it's been...not ones that are diet bet friendly lol)

I had surgery on my hand on October 24th. So healing and struggling with that. I've been eating like a total idiot, even worse it seems than previous to the surgery.

Sorry for the rant, its just been so hard.

Lindsay, yesterday was my Birthday. My Mom took me to lunch. We shared a Subway turkey breast sub loaded with lots of veggies and mayo, which I believe is low-fat at Subway. Then she treated me to bingo. It was a good day.

Stop starting at the scale - rely solely on how you feel, how your clothes are fitting, and take measurements!!
Screw the Scale - Inches is where it's at! This will most likely be my last diet bet, doing these bets have really changed how I see the scale; chasing that Big number at the top is not healthy and I need to focus more on how I feel instead of being discouraged because I'm up 5 pounds since I started.

  • Today's workout and a workout that always reminds me how far ive come was an hour on the stairs! In the beginning I started with 30 mins on the elliptical as it didnt hurt my joints and overtime I just enjoyed switching up my workouts. 30 minutes or an hour, any type of movement counts! How did you move today?

I'm at a convention, trying not to "get my money's worth" out of the banquet meals. I did half an hour on the hotel elliptical and am planning some pool jogging tonight. I have another Dietbet that ends this week and need to stay on track!

I bought oranges for my sweet treat now. I have yoggies in the house too and those are definitely sweet. Not sure if they count as healthy, but it's still better than M&Ms

Here to kick my sugar addiction! Day 1- it's rough. It usually takes 3 days before the insane need for it goes away. But that's what happens when I fall off the wagon and start grabbing cookies, M&Ms, and sodas. Time to start feeling good again.

Every time you have success not eating sugar and you wanted to, write it down for motivation later. I read that in a book, and it helped me so much. It builds your 'resistance muscles' and you read that journal daily, read all the times you were strong and it helps you get stronger and stronger.
