  • Wooo man, what a week! As I’ve said forever it seems, you can be stubborn in your goals, but stay flexible in your methods. Between kids out of school most of the week with all the lovely cold and ice, our youngest getting a pretty severe concussion Friday at recess (he’s good now and recovering), our oldest having a soccer tourney today with a windchill of 6 degrees, then getting tangled up with another player and hitting her head on the turf which prompted another ER visit and another concussion (very mild)…basically how I planned to end this week and game didn’t go anything like I planned.

First and most importantly, I am SO FRIGGIN’ PROUD of all of you! Whether you made the 4% goal for this game or not, you still won simply in the fact that you committed to taking four weeks to create healthier habits, both in your fitness and nutrition. Now, I hope you continue those habits moving forward! Remember, this game was about learning which habits and practices are not sustainable in your daily life and which ones you can keep focusing on to keep heading the right direction to your goals.

I realize I owe y’all another live stream and workout and again am so sorry the way this week ended! If you do have any burning questions that you are still needing answers for, please put them in the comments below so they can get answered!

Congrats to everyone again and THANK YOU for making me have the most fun job on the planet, in getting to continue helping people find the healthiest and happiest version of themselves!

So happy to have hit my goal but more importantly to stay consistent for 30 straight days, even through my birthday! I’ve learned so much and will be continuing this journey hybrid calendar! Thank you Joel!

Goal hit and then some! I am back to my personal goal weight, so maintenance mode here I come. It was so much fun to do this alongside you all! I enjoyed seeing the posts each day.

This has been a rollercoaster ride and for my own mental health I will not be doing a diet bet again. Yesterday I was .1 away from my goal and after ending up eating only one large meal mid day I was sure I’d get there. Unfortunately my husband salts things more than I do and I jumped up a full pound this morning. Now I’m feeling like I just want to go all day today without eating so I can weigh in tomorrow but that feels like a very unhealthy mentality. These were fun in my 30s but that time of life is over. Congrats to those who hit their goals and learned new, healthy habits!

I totally get that! I don’t do these often for that very reason!

No single plan works for everyone. Joel's plan is good, but if it didn't work for you, it's not *your* plan. You've got to carefully track your diet, exercise, and activities. Look for patterns, then adjust to boost the good ones and cut down on the bad ones. Just keep going.

It’s the last Friday of the challenge and I want to leave some nutrition thoughts for after you finish the challenge and as you continue on your health journey…

Oftentimes when we go into a 4 or 6 week challenge and we have skin in the game, we hold tight to keeping our nutrition in check and that makes sense for our short term goals. I want you to remember though as the challenge ends and you move on, one meal or treat off plan is not going to make or break your health or your long term goals, just like one balanced “fit your macros perfectly” meal is not going to make you healthy. It is what you do MOST of the time that matters. Food is for fuel but sometimes food is also celebration and social and is meant to be enjoyed.

So, in your regular everyday mundane life where health is the long term goal, enjoy some pizza with your kids on a Friday night or a dessert at dinner on date night, don’t deprive yourself. BUT be mindful of what your meals look like MOST of the time so you have wiggle room for those more indulgent, less balanced food choices without compromising your health or happiness.

This DietBet was exactly what I needed to stay committed, I did reach my 4% goal. Excited to weigh in tomorrow before work, wonder if I can submit a photo in scrubs? ?

  • Week 4, day 4 ✅!! Pushed myself to go heavy again and got ‘er done! Had an amazing 1.5 lb loss from yesterday, so diet bet goal met! Woot! Would still like to lose another 1-3 lbs for my personal goal, so sticking with strict nutrition.

  • Week 4, day 3✅! I struggle with the pivots on my rubber mat, and took some of the combos a little slower to attempt to get them correct. But it’s done! I’ve been super focused on nutrition this week and am seeing the rewards a little every day as the scale drops. I might just win this thing yet!

I’m always slower than them! Usually not too bad until they start chanting the combos.

  • Week 4, day 2 ✅! I challenged myself to go heavier at least on the first set for several exercises. Definitely exhausted those muscles!
