Someone posted in here about fasting and drinking bone broth for the last day to drop that last bit. I can’t find it any longer. Can anyone share it again thank you.!

Drinking an ok amount of water, combined with less carbs and no salty food is the easiest way to drop water weight quickly. If you are able to include an hour of cardio in that plan, that could further push you along.

Assuming you have a fair bit of water weight there is no reason why you cannot lose 1-2 kg in water weight over a day.

Personally I reached the goal monday last week but I carbed up too much during the weekend and ended up +2kg above it again. Took a quick 48h water fast and dropped 3.5kg. Well under the goal. 2kg Dropped the first 24h to give you an idea. The two last days I have just stuck to a no salty food/protein rich diet to maintain which is working fine :-)

Good luck.

Deb

Thanks everyone! I was a pound away 4 days an ago … thought I was good. I gained two pounds some how. Now I’m 1.3 away. I will do the above for tomorrow’s weigh in see what happens.

  • Happy Monday! Tomorrow is our last day! Stay on track, don't give in, keep going, and claim that victory!

    It's time to brag about your successes! I know that each one of you has had successes and we want to hear about them!

    Whether you're on track to win this game or not, please know that any progress at all is a win. Any positive changes you made for yourself, are a win.

    The final weigh-in is January 29-30 in Pacific Time! And make sure to submit the Final weigh-in, not a Progress weigh-in only.

I started this challenge with a BMI classified as obese, and now I’m just overweight lol

Hit a plateu last week, but went on a liquid diet yesterday & ran a mile... it brought me down to my goal :sweat_smile: this is my first diet bet in 2-4 years, so I'm proud of the discipline I've been able to hold down this month. Good luck everyone!

Andrew C , I was on a very similar boat. I had actually met my goal but Tuesday morning I somehow gained 3lbs randomly. Did a 2 day juice cleanse and this morning was down almost 5lbs! Gave my body a little reset.

Abbey T.

I agree with Lexus. I think intermittent starting tomorrow until weigh in will give you the best boost. Limit salt. Weigh in the first thing in the morning on the first day of weigh in, right after you use the rest room.

  • Please excuse the dirty table, I work in a factory. Everything is dirty. 😂

    simple meal I made for work. Not sure of the macros, I’ve been so exhausted from work & the kids to track food. Keeping it relatively healthy though.

    Protein pasta
    Alfredo sauce
    Blended up a little bit of cottage cheese and threw it in there for extra protein
    Roasted broccoli
    Rotisserie chicken
    Mozz cheese

    So good & filling!

Yum! And I get the dirty background. I try to take nice pics of my food when I post it but I work in retail so it is what it is

Jayne

I’m trying really hard to listen to my body better. We cook really clean and always have, but I eat too much. No sugar, no processed foods. It’s all organic, delicious, whole food, but I find myself loading my plate and then going back in for seconds! That’s my big battle now. Things just taste like more, ya know?

Feeling good! My goal was 8,000 steps and I’m sitting at 8,451 right now. I tried tracking calories today and yesterday but just felt very bleh to me. I have done that in the past and had success but I hate the constant brain time it takes to think about it and plug it in. I’m going to see what just being mindful with my food and movement does, if the scale isn’t budging with that I plan to track for the rest of the game. Anyone have suggestions for diet without calorie tracking? Hope you all had a great day!

I've never been successful counting calories either. I echo what others have said - high protein, low carb is the easiest way to stay satiated without overeating.

I'd suggest finding your triggers and finding alternatives (e.g. no wine at night - substitute with some ginger tea or something fun like Kombucha). Intermittent fasting is also fantastic at limiting your total caloric intake.

If snacking is your failure point, find healthy, high protein snacks that are "allowed" (e.g. hard-boiled eggs, turkey + cheese rollups, handful of almonds).

I, also, hate plugging in the calories of everything you put in your mouth.

My standard is a homemade burrito bowl (no rice):

* Chipotle-style chicken (seasoned chicken thighs, chopped)
* Black beans
* Salsa
* Shredded cheese
* Cottage cheese (instead of sour cream)

Simple, high protein, filling, and delicious!

Soup!! I've also been trying to eat more lentils.

  • Whey protein scoop (just w/ water) for breakfast and a big a** salad w/ tons of protein for lunch. Trying to build a little muscle while losing the fat this month.

    Feeling good and having a tasty lunch like this to look forward to really helps!

Any dressing??? Salad looks wonderful

Andrew C.

@Healthier Protein powder is Gold Standard Whey "Extreme Milk Chocolate" flavor by Optimum Nutrition.

@David Salad dressing is mixed in - something from Trader Joe's, but I'm not near my kitchen now so I can't remember it. I know it has seed oils which I don't like, but it's tasty! I may try going with basic olive oil and balsamic vinegar to make it even healthier, but I think the salad dressing is a small sin at this point.

* 2 hard-boiled eggs
* Chicken pulled from a grocery store rotisserie chicken
* Sliced almonds
* Chia seeds
* 1 slice of White American Cheese
* Handful of dried cranberries

I’m 46 and used to be a competitive runner. I’ve let my weight creep up in recent years and I’m not the “fast guy” on the platform tennis courts anymore (my favorite sport).

I want to shed about 15lbs over the next 2-3 months and get rid of some of those nagging aches and pains (back, hip) by strength building. I have a plan and am motivated.

* Protein smoothie instead of bagel or breakfast sandwich in the morning
* Kettlebell workout 3x per week
* Ruck (35lb weight) 2-3 miles 3x per week
* Consistent, low-carb lunch (homemade burrito bowl or salad)
* Sensible dinner
* No calories after dinner (alcohol, I’m looking at you)

This has been a winning formula for me in the past - simple and I don’t feel like I’m “white knuckling” it.
