  • Hello everyone, welcome to our March game! Our game officially starts today & I am so excited/grateful to have you all here! For those of you who don't know me - my name is Lexi (fatgirlfedup) & I joined my first dietbet January 2016 that helped me lose over 300lbs! I have been in multiple dietbets during my own journey, which is why i'm so passionate about hosting since I know they work. We will have others joining us for up to 14 days! If this is your first dietbet - welcome! If this isn't your first time - welcome back & i'm happy you are here to continue your journey! Remember every single healthy decision you make will add up to big results! I'm hoping to lose some pounds with you & can't wait to hit our goals together!
Some tips that helped me for our game:
    - WATER IS YOUR BEST FRIEND. Make sure you are staying hydrated! Water can help keep you full and boost metabolism!
    - PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR FOOD & MOVE! I use myfitnesspal constantly to learn about what i'm eating. It helps me track my food/workouts and is my favorite app. I also enjoy the elliptical but there's so many ways to move such as walking, hiking, biking - it all adds up, just keeo moving and find what you enjoy personally!
    - PROGRESS PHOTOS: Sometimes you can't see the progress on the scale, having photos will show your progress also. I regret not taking more photos/videos in the beginning. Trust me, you'll want them! Plus I love seeing all your photos from the bet, so feel free to tag me!
    - LET'S ALL BE FRIENDS. Be sure to post often & be sure to use hashtag #fatgirlfedupsdietbet on social media so we can find eachother! Also feel free to share the game, the more people to reach our goals with the better!
    - DON'T GET DISCOURAGED. Never let the scale bring you down. It could be a number of things & our weight constantly fluctuates. You are so much more than a number!
    Let's do this! <3

  • Started my Wednesday with an early morning sweat session before the sun even came up! One way I get up early is to set out my clothes the night before, and my phone across the room with my alarm set so I have to physically get out of bed, stop scrolling at night to sleep, and i can go without thinking about what im about to do! Did you work out today?

Yes! I walked before work. Today I walked before work again and I take a strength training class after work.

Workout completed this morning, and now off for a walk to try and get those steps in!

  • Today has been a really awful day. I mean REALLY awful!

I'm so motivated to lose weight right now, but my body seems to be fighting me. I thought I was getting to the point where I could start on some serious walking leading to getting back on my bicycle sometime this spring. But the knee I had replaced last June has "exploded" in pain and pressure on each of the last two days, to the point where I can barely walk. I've had to go back to using a cane for stability this evening, and getting in and out of a car is a painful ordeal. Orthopedist appt. made for this Friday.

On top of that, the heart issue I thought I was on top of kicked back in today, perhaps from all the pain. I'm supposed to be having a cardiologist call to make an appointment but it hasn't happened yet, so I will chase that down tomorrow.

    I'm so frustrated!

But...there is good news. Before the weight loss began in January, this would have been an evening where I would have tried to drown my frustration in unhealthy foods, looking for soul-less flavor to try to cheer me up.

But not today. I just ate my last snack of the day, and I'm still 300 calories under my goal! I needed this victory, but I was so busy feeling sorry for myself that I didn't see it until just a few minutes ago.

Healthy habits can move us forward, and they can sustain us when we fall backwards. I want comfort, but not in food that will do me no good.

Thanks for letting me vent. Hopefully tomorrow goes better than today, but if it doesn't, I still won't turn to food to comfort my pain. I'm too good for that!

Sorry to hear about these complications Keith. So proud of you for getting back to the straight and narrow despite adversity!!

Rose L.

Sending all the positive vibes your way! I hope they are able to get you fixed back up quickly. In the meantime, nutrition is what you can control. Maybe try some upper body exercises while sitting for activity? Keep a positive attitude. I can see how much you inspire others here, let us lift you up in support too!

Prioritize protein over basically everyone other macronutrient. It really does help with hunger and muscle retention.

I’ve finally started to walk every day. Some days it is 3.5 miles and others it is 1 mile. I have to keep moving and just don’t see the scale move unless I am.

Happy to say I’m in my mid 180’s! Started off at 210.6 lbs from the beginning of the year, with a total loss of 25 lbs in just 2 months! Lots of temptations, but I still pulled through! I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in so long! Hope everyone else is doing well! ❤

My job is very sedentary, my goal will definitely be to move more. I'm also looking for some good meal prep lunches. Any ideas and/or recipes? I usually just take a portion of leftover dinner for lunch the next day.

The Curvy Goddess

I keep things very simple and avoid ultra processed foods as much as I can. And will cook about 97% of my meals.

I actually ate take out a couple of days ago and it was a disaster.

I do leftovers a lot.

Catherine W.

I eat leftover dinner for lunch as well. For me it is the easiest and most tasty! Plus, I log my macros the night before, so it’s one less thing I have to do the next day.
