Are we allowed to weigh in early? I'm being sent away for work from May 29-June 3. I'll be heading to a remote location and I guaranteed will not have access to a scale or even internet (I'm auditing a site for a new cell phone tower in northern British Columbia). This is a mandatory weigh in 😫 I can't just forfeit the entire game lol

  • Here ya go ☺

But wouldn’t May 29 be too early? I leave for a trip that day, too!

Has anyone on Android not been able to weigh in? I know it's been finalized now, but I've been trying for 2 days now to submit a weigh in. Every time I get to he part where you enter your weight in, the app crashes. I've tried reinstalling the app and then it wouldn't even let me log in for a day. Said my password was wrong but didn't give an option to change the password. Annoying because I did make my weigh in 😞

If this ever happens again, another thing you can do is log in via the website instead and see if that works.

Backpacker44

Ah those are good ideas :disappointed: I didn't think to email them with the photos or try the website. I always use the app and haven't had any issues, but I recently got a new phone and have had nothing but issues this time

Yesterday I was pretty down, upset with myself, and almost ready to give up. I couldn’t believe I didn’t make my round 1 goal (which is usually the easiest especially after the holidays.

Well after not being very good yesterday (wine and popcorn last night) I woke up and found myself 2 lbs down…that’s a lb under the goal…just one day too late.

Does anyone else find their weight fluctuates up and down a lot for no reason? I make all my food at home, very little sodium, and calories are about the same each day.

I lost the $20 for round one but am motivated now to win! I need to get ahead of round 2 so I have a buffer at weigh in time since the scale is so unpredictable!

Happy to see so many people doing well! Let’s keep going.

I weighed on Saturday and thought, hey I can bet this and be lighter tomorrow. I was heavier.

What irritates me is if I just focus on being in a calorie deficit and drinking water the weight comes off pretty reliably, as soon as I add any exercise in, it goes up and that does not add to any motivation to workout for sure.

I always feel that i do well for a certain period of time, loose a specific amount of weight, and then some sort of internal sabotage kicks in and i start to revert back to old habits, to comfort food, to emotional eating, specially when i do have stress in my life, which i think i will never have a stress free life, so i will need to learn to live with and handle it not escape to food, i meed to teach my brain new habits and new methods to handle stress. Which is not food!
But this self sabotage feels like it has more than that in it, i feel like internally i believe that i will mess up my weightoss journey and that i will regain the weight, it's this internal believe that i am bound the fail, and then is tart to proof it to myself by actually reverting to old emotional eating habits.
I see this now, I understand that weight loss is not about food restrictions, it's actually about learning to handle my emotions and changing my habits, which means a different mindset and a different focus, not only on food but on myself. I want to say to everyone who have similar struggles that's it's not easy, but we can do it, we might have ups and downs, but what matters is to keep going, and to realise our feelings and why we do what we do, our old brain habits will try to steer us into food, but we need to actually deal with the real emotions and feel the feelings without food. And learn this new habit.

I relate to what you're feeling. Stress, especially. My self sabotage always seems to begin with the thought, "Just this once...." It can be some chocolate dessert, a bunch of chips, whatever. And even as I think it, I know it won't be just that once. But I also know I can't live a life of deprivation or I won't stick to it. So I have to tread that line between giving in and letting loose, and having a planned-for, one time treat.

Yes it's very hard for Example now after finishing the challenge, my brain keeps telling me you can eat now we are done reward your self, and i need to work on this idea, that i did it for myself, and the reward wouldn't be eating more now or eating unhealthy, it's actually enjoying the results and keep going, the just this once idea (pattern actually) is dangerous once i go into that it's like an avalanche of "just this once" or you" deserve this"
It's more mental work than diet work at this point.

Less than a lb away from my round 2 goal already.

Since the round two goal is 6% and the disqualification is double that a 12%, I don't think you really need to worry about "unhealthy weight loss". You can free up your mind to worry about other things, like what are you gonna do when all your pants are too loose!

Danielle W.

Exactly! I would have to lose like three times what I am!

  • I have my Abuelita's Nopales (cactus leaves) recipe going, with six diced leaves (small in size), onion, garlic and cilantro in just enough water to cover the vegetable matter. The cactus leaves will secrete mucilaginous juices. The cactus will boil until they turn soft and greyish, about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, I will dice two roma tomatoes, half a fresh onion, and mince half a bunch of cilantro. If I want it spicy, I will dice a serrano pepper. I probably won't though. When the cactus is cooked, I will remove the cooked plant and mix in the fresh cut vegetables and herbs, and add about two teaspoons of salt.

I will strain the liquid into jars and keep them in the refrigerator. They will aid me with regularity and digestive ease. The mucilaginous properties of the cactus will soothe a sore tummy and ease constipation. The cilantro will influence the mix by applying its anti-inflammatory properties, as will the garlic, and the onion will add its antioxidant and probiotic properties to it. These will last a week.

Use the chunks and mix them with what Edith referred to as pico de gallo (diced fresh tomatoes, onion, cilantro, pepper if you want spice). Then, plate them as you would meat.. For example, as a taco filling, on tostada shells, as a breakfast burrito filling, over pot or refried beans, as a topping in vegetable soup or stew to make it more substantial, as a chunky dip for chips or nachos, next to scrambled eggs, or on its own as a light snack. It's filling but low in calories and nutritionally significant.

I started this week down 5 lbs! I worked my butt off last week by working out and walking every day, drinking 100oz of water, staying on top of my macros, and, most importantly, believing in myself! It is amazing what a mindset change will do for you. I hope everyone is doing great! In the words of one of my trainers on Faster Way (which really resonated with me this morning): "Here’s the deal: in 2025, it can be you against you, or you can be your own partner. Partner with yourself. Tell yourself what you can do. Believe what you can do, because you can do this."

Backpacker44, but think of all the extra steps you can get in by going to the bathroom often! Haha!

Patience isn’t my virtue you guys. I keep getting on the scale every morning and thinking ugh why is it taking so long? I have to remind myself that weight loss doesn’t happen overnight. 1-2 pounds per week is a normal pace depending on your program. So to make it more fun I’m going to get a weight loss tracker app and update you guys on my progress each week. I’m so grateful to be on plan and my body is starting to feel better. Arthritis pain is almost completely gone! ♥

1-2 lbs usually sticks a lot better than bigger numbers. Consistency wins the race in the end my friend!

I know what you mean. I used to weigh myself multiple times a day when I was dealing with an Ed. It's really hard to break that cycle. Sometimes now when I'm struggling I will put duct tape over the display of the scale so that I have to physically bend over and take it off. If I want to weigh myself and for some reason that helps
