Don't let the weekend ruin all your progress from the week.

It's easy to overindulge, especially on the weekends when we are out of routine. Go into the weekend with a plan of what you are going to eat. If you will be out and about during meal times, pack up a cooler of food so you are in control and don't find yourself going through the drive thru.

If you are celebrating Mother's Day this weekend and not in control of what is being served here are a few quick tips to keep you on track:

1. Don't go to the celebration hungry, eat something with protein and fiber before you go, you will be less likely to overdo it at the celebration if you aren't hungry.

2. Continue to track, the Mother's Day calories still count so track what you have eaten at the event.

3. Limit or eliminate alcohol, alcohol contains calories and may also make you more likely to eat more. If you can go without, do it! If you do choose to have a drink, limit it to one and remember to track!

4. Choose the items you REALLY want and keep the portions small, skip the dishes that aren't your favorites.

The more you get used to practicing these habits, the easier they become and not only will they help aid in your weight loss now, but they will help you maintain your weight loss later.

My husband makes me crepes every Mother’s Day and birthday. 3 options: egg and chive, cinnamon apple and sour cream, and nutella. I usually prefer the egg and chive (it also has a strong hard cheese like Straveccio or Parmesan in it). So good!! They’re all delicious. I may have one mimosa or Bellini. Hoping to feel well enough to workout tomorrow!!!

  • Today’s late breakfast. Megan’s Cottage Cheese with apples, etc. this is the BOMB! Second day I have had this. Definite one of my favorites and go to. It’s delicious!!

  • I made a soba noodle salad with enoki mushrooms, baked tofu, fermented black beans with chili oil, hot sesame oil,, bok choy, and black sesame seeds. Extremely tasty!!Feeling unwell, I didn’t eat much today so it helped bring my fats and carbs up a bit. Needed more tofu but ran out of calories! Still got 95gm tofu though :)

    My body is loving the fresh whole foods and all the veggies again. The last month has been quick and easy and not necessarily the healthiest choices since I was doing my practicum. Happy to get refocused on my goals.

I had to take today off from working out as I feel so awful with a spring cold-sinus thing. Very bummed! But I passed the threshold of feeling well enough to workout. I love shoulder day!! I’ll make it up tomorrow or the next day.

  • Had to semi-combine two of the recipes for dinner tonight. I ran out of calories before I used all the macros but focused on protein for the day!

  • Mmm lunch :). Sweet potato and chicken bowl. We don’t have barbecue sauce so I substitute some random jam/sauce that I found in the fridge.? This is a lot of food!

  • Good morning diet bet peeps. Just thought I would share my breakfast this morning as I actually had time to eat. Breakfast this morning has 47 g of protein 28 g of carbs 15 g of fat and 10 g of fibre .My husband had a heart attack and has been in the hospital and things have been absolutely crazy.This morning I took some time to actually eat, which is something I haven’t done a whole lot of the last couple of days. i’m also taking some time to work out this morning and get my yoga in as I also started a 40 day yoga challenge yesterday and I didn’t get my yoga in yesterday either. Today is going to be a better day. I’ve already packed a lunch full of vegetables, some hard boiled eggs jerky to get my protein in and I will return home later this evening and make myself eat as well.
