Was there a call last night? Have I missed the link, or was it not on this week since it's a holiday weekend in the US?

Question for the walkers! I have a walking pad under my desk, and typically don't clock my time/steps. Just little spurts here and there. Today I was motivated by the stubborn scale to turn it on at an easy pace, start my watch, and just keep going for a bit while I worked.

For those who have tracked steps before, do these numbers make sense??

I think the treadmill is correct at calculating the distance, in an hour it says 2.64 miles. But my watch, on my hand working on my keyboard while we are casually moving and grooving. after an HOUR, says I've gotten 536 steps?! How are people getting in 10k? I seriously need to reevaluate my movement plan if I'm not even getting 1k after an hour, but I do think the wrist not swinging confused the watch? But now I am not sure if my step goal for simply "more time" needs to change, since it's not even half what I expected. I should've paid more attention before today! For those who have watched their numbers, does that sound crazy? Or how would you adjust?

The fitness watches track steps based on movement, so if your wrist wasn't swinging backwards and forwards in a walking movement it won't have registered. Sometimes it still detects walking and counts steps if your heart rate is up since it realises you must be moving, so perhaps you could increase your pace to get into zone 2 heart rate?

As Sarah commented above, it might depend on the type of fitness tracker. One method , and I think the most common, is for the tracker (watch) to do its own tracking by detecting the number of arm swings. So if you are walking and typing on a stationary keyboard on your desk, your arm likely isn’t swinging much. There are some other devices that communicate with the fitness equipment to gather the step data if the fitness equipment has a way to communicate that (usually by Bluetooth or other wireless means if the devices are paired). Putting the device on your ankle might work like others have mentioned. When walking outdoors, I typically register about 2200-2400 steps per mile. Hope that helps!

Cravings! ? Whenever I limit certain foods, once I eventually have them again the cravings for more come back strong - to overeat at that time and to want more of it going forward.

Even when I’ve tried to incorporate those favorites into my regular diet to combat a potential deprivity mindset, I still overeat them and want more in general. I hate to think I can’t have a slice of cookie cake here and there at a party, or have chips & salsa on occasion etc, but I do find anytime I let these types of foods in I spiral for almost a week before I can nip it!

I prioritize protein, and I hit my fluid goals, but I’m still frequently hungry.

Please send help, bc I LOVE enjoying my foods!

Why am I not able to do updated weigh in’s? I can send unofficial weights but nothing official.

I did my weigh-in this morning, however, it said I could not to a submission weigh-in unless I paid for an account. Anyone else faced with this problem? I am down 2 lbs so that is exciting!!

Are you looking at "progress weigh in" vs "unofficial weigh in"? The latter is something you get for free and can log your weight as much or as little as you want in the game. The "progress weigh in" is only for people who either have a membership or have paid the extra $5 for the game-length membership. It also adds you into a weekly prize draw and is reviewed by the judges unlike the unofficial weigh in.

Kate K.

Do we need to pay the $5 to be eligible for the payout at the end?

Looking forward to this. Just wanted to give everyone a little hack to make things easier. I put the recipe file pdf in chatGPT and it created a shopping list that I can I have in my phone!
